Illustrated talk at Leeds, and Saltaire Arts Festival

I'm giving a talk about the history of the L&LC and A&CN in the Leeds area at 1pm in one of the arches at Granary Wharf. I think it's free as part of their May promotion of the area. There are two boat trips down the river, and the talk is between them.

Also, the L&LC heritage boat Kennet will be at Saltaire over the Whit bank holiday, with displays about the traditional boat painting on the L&LC, and canal-related World Heritage Sites, as well as the usual ones about Kennet and the history of the L&LC.

If you join the L&LC Society, you can help with moving Kennet, should you want to try your hand on a proper boat. We have been invited to a heritage day at Burscough in mid-June, though don't have the full details yet, but we will be moving Kennet over to Worsley for docking in August anyway.
