Rowan berry and crab apple jelly

I made some of this a few years ago - and some plain crab apple jelly. I LOVED the crab apple. I loved crab apple with sage stirred into it. I love crab apple with lime and corriander.

But the rowan and crab was too bitter to eat as it was - it was awful in sauces too. But if you could be bothered to make Cumberland sauce using it, it was marvellous.

My advice - leave the rowan berries for the birds and use the crab apples.

(Crab apple and sloe is good - just don't use too many sloes)

It's not something I yearn to make for myself....I thought the Rowan might be a bit suspect. other wise it would probably be more popular.
