jack2
Hi, I have just fitted a Lister SR3 in my new boat. The idel speed with no load is 932rpm and with the Hydaulic box in forward it is 884 rpm. There is no alternator fitted yet so this may bring it down further. But it still seems too high. The book says that the speeds should be 700-2000 or 850-2500. Why the difference in the speed ranges , governor weights, springs etc. are all the same????? Hope you can help to reduce it as it could be fun in Marinas doing 10 knots!!!!! Thanks
Chris-B
Ok question time.. Do you have the full engine serial number ? Was this a "genuine" Lister marine SR or has it been converted to marine application ? Off the back of my head ( all my technical data books are at work ) I can think of 9 different Governor weight / Spring combinations for this engine Give me some info to work with and I will try to address the issues you are having Chris
