Evening All

ihave now moved myboat by road to a more local spot whish is on the shroppie in Waverton just outside of Chester, fantastic location................

My question, how many members of the forum are on Golden Nook? i know of three but wondered if their are any more out there, as this is my first proper boat ( the last didnt even see the water) i am keen to make some more friends especially if i share a mooring spot with them.

Just a thought

Hi Nik

Im at Golden Nook too but am on the bankside doing up a 30ft Springer and hopefully going in the water with the November crane, and I agree a fantastic location I love the sunsets there. I am there most weekends and now the light nights will be here cant wait for the longer evenings too.

Ah Jane i have heard a bit about you (all good), i am good friends with Paul (NB Odin & NB Tara) also friends with Paul Williams the boat builder/fitter, i have seen your boat and it looks great, my goal is to keep my litte dawncraft for a year or so then build up to getting a springer as i love the lines and the quirky ness of them,

i am going down tomorrow to finish off painting the cabin roof of my boat, if you are there then give me a shout, i will be in a red golf gt, and am moored just where the three wheel motorbike is (my boat is called moonshadow, although not for long as im changing the name)

Thanks for the reply

Nik

Ah nighthawk i see your also based in Wirral, me too, i live in bromborough.

we can possibly get chance for a mini banter at some stage, either on the boat or at a local in the wirral to chat about boat porn etc lol

Let me know of any arrangements for a banter, say between Swanley and Chester. It would be good to start getting to know people. We are moored just along from you at Swanley.

Hullo...we a bit further upstreat at Swanley...just up from Hurlston....!

Moored at the Golden Nook farm back in the 1960s, no narrow boats then, all GRP or Wood, and only about 20 boats in all not like that now though. We are also moored at Swanley marina by the way.

We will be passing through Waverton on Thursday 1st April on our way to the Ellesmere Port Gathering. If could spead the word, if anyone requires coal, diesel etc just look out or get in touch. Maybe have a banter at the Port or Chester, quite a few other boats will be heading this way.++

Ha ha ha! Sunny New Brighton!!! There is quite a cluster of Wirral folk who keep their boats on our stretch of the Shroppie....I feel a bank holiday banter...or a mini convoy to the Cotton Arms at Wrenbury for good food and quality beer!

Well thanks all for the comments,

Jane it was good to see you today nad have a nose around your boat, my word you have some work to do!!, if i can help out for favours in return then just ask.

i was thinking we could do a mini banter at either the Shady Oak or the Cheshire cat ideally over the bank holiday weekend if all are ok to attend?

It would be great to meet up with you all no matter where you are all moored, lets try and get together over easter, i would like to go to the Shady personally but all please let me know your preferation

D'oh......as soon as that school bell sounds then we're off to Swanley and then head for the Caldon...a stretch we've not done yet....Last time we went to the Shady Oak, the wasps were a real problem....What a view though!
