Lemonroyd Lock no 7 currently closed due to failed cill, BW on site and hope to have fixed to reopen on Saturday 10th October.

Stoppage: Lemonroyd Lock

Associated Regional Office: BW Yorkshire

UPDATE (07 October 2009): UPDATE 7TH OCTOBER

After initial investigations, we currently believe the lock should re-open on Saturday 10th October

Lemonroyd Lock is closed due to a failed cill. We are working to repair this and will issue an update tomorrow afternoon.

Because the weather forecast indicates rainfall for the next few days and this is likely to lead to rising river levels, we would urge all boaters not to travel through either Castleford or Woodnook Locks and cruise towards Lemonroyd lock. Mooring at Lemonroyd is limited and unsuitable if the river level increases significantly. British Waterways apologise for the inconvenience.
