DHutch
length 24ftbeam 8ft 6in draft 3ft not a big boat but i would like a change of scenery but dont want to sell boat will prob go back to the sea 6-12 months or so later Yeah, that would fit, assuming its not too high? - You would need a leisence of some sort, but its more that possable. While i was at salcombe (tidal estuary in s.devon) i saw a boat with a BW plate, a little GRP day boat, prolly about 18ft. Richard Fairhurst
Above dimensions should be fine... you might scrape the bottom occasionally, but should be ok on the wider waterways. You might want to consider headroom, too (not generally an issue on the sea). Speed limit typically 4mph on the canals, can be more on the rivers. rowey2001
the hull draft is 2ft the prop is 2ft 9" but has fin which is 2" so total draft is 2ft11" just got info from official web site. regarding height 8ft 3" any help with a mooring it? thanks
DHutch
the hull draft is 2ftthe prop is 2ft 9" but has fin which is 2" so total draft is 2ft11" You wont have a problem with that, espcially as your limited to wide canals anyway. - Our NB has a 2'9" draft anyway. - Less sure about head room tho? Richard Fairhurst
regarding height 8ft 3"any help with a mooring it? 29185[/snapback] Headroom (air draught) could be a problem for you: Leeds & Liverpool and Lancaster canals are quoted as 8ft max, Rochdale is lower still. You'll be ok on the Bridgewater and the River Weaver. There's some info on moorings on Waterscape.com - find the canal you want, click 'Boating' on the left-hand menu, then 'Moorings'. For the latest availability on (BW-owned) towpath moorings, suggest you call the North-West office on 01925 847700. Richard

Gary Stacey
bear in mind that in shallower waters if there is no skeg under the prop then this will be the first thing to ground out Gary
