Ice on the Ashby?

We're presently at Coventry Basin, wanting to get to Trinity Marina at Hinckley, so that we can go to a family funeral. Is there anyone in the area who can tell us the state of the ice etc?

I had to move from Kings Sutton down to Nells Bridge to turn then back to Banbury last Sunday in ice that was over an inch thick in most places. Some bends took two or three attempts to get around but it can be done. I had no choice but to move. It can be done, just very hard on the blacking and I know that you have been re-blacked recently. I'm on a different canal cause at trinity moorings this morning the only thing filling the canal was water so unless the weather alters dramatically your safe to proceed, bon voyage
