Things to do near Caldon or Llangollen canals

Hi There,

 

Not sure which part of the forums to put this message. But anyway planning a trip on either of the two canals mentioned as part of my brothers stag do.

 

The main reason is to get together, happily potter down the canal, have the odd pint and have a catch up and good time. But to mix things up a little... Does anybody know of any fun 'lads' things to do nearish the canals? thinking of karting, offroading, paintballing etc, anything to do with adrenaline to get it out of our system before happily unwinding floating peacefully along....

The Caldon is a stone's throw from Alton Towers.

Little bit further afeild, but theres then fastlane karting in fenton (caldon side of stoke).

 

Llangollon wise, you have paintballing at Madley (near whichurch) , or just a death run down the the non-towpath side of the pontcysyllte (?)

We always found enough fun "lads" things to do *on* the canal.

Here is a bit of "offroading", the *real* end of the Llangollen Canal.

..mind you that was back in 1972 when we were lads and the gravel shoal had not been dumped in the channel just beyond the last winding point.

 

Don't forget with lads stag do's on narrowboats it is traditional to have a blow-up doll strapped to the front button (we have twice seen this)

Near the Montgomery Canal at Rednal is a go-karting and (IIRC) paintballing place.

From the East end of the LLangollen you could get a taxi into Crewe and have a scrap with some of the scum.
