Is there not a boatfinder facility with brokers?

Or just a good search facility on their website which allows you to narrow it down by price?

Whilton has one

and

Cowroast has one

Most of the other brokerage websites seem to list boats according to length or just by random chaos theory!

And if you don't mind trawling through the classifieds, Apolloduck has one too.

(Above links take you to boats listed as £20k or less)

Well, I for one would not quite know how to justify to a seller a drop in price from £40k to 23.5k. I can appreciate that a broker is not omnipotent and might end up having to lop say 10% off the asking price if it is not selling, or the owner instructs them to do so because they are keen to get the thing sold, but nearly 45%?! At best it is just wholly unprofessional, at worst they have deliberately misled the seller. I'm not in that market, and I never will be. Word of mouth is very important in the canal world - it's a relatively small community.

An asking price is just an opinion, the opinion of a fallible human. Too many people see asking prices as a real hard figure that must be respected. Some asking prices are very close to the true value, others are nonsense. always form your own opinion.
