What are the latest views on the usage of Easy Start

Another good setup on the Rustons was a JAP petrol engine to crank the big diesel .....the 600 single had no trouble cranking the engine in a RB71.........some had compressed air start direct into the cylinders,but it was tricky to use ,and forgetting to isolate the air tank Friday afternoon meant no start on Monday morning.
