Please does anyone know if this catalyst is complete and if so, which way up does it sit in the burner. It seems to burn better open end up but I’m still not sure.

 Open end down - that was my gut reaction, but you’ve got me thinking now ........ I await an expert (open end down is what I do and it seems to burn fine but have not tried it other way down, and I’m not turning the fire off this weather just to try it)

eta - that looks like the bottom catalyser and is complete but I have a top one as well that I have heard described as a crown which has a ring on it - you can just see the crown in this pic

Ha it’s a bit cold.

Well wondered if the open end had broken away.
So there Is meant to be an open end.

When I got the boat it was open end up, however will smell problems I decided to investigate and it made me think,  I couldn’t see a reason why the closed end would just sit flat in the burner. Hmm

yes mine is just a hot water boiler int back of boat. Red one

The Kabola manual shows the open end goes downwards.
