Alan Wheeler
What are the moorings generally like in August between the top of the Caen Hill flight and Bradford-upon-Avon; as we have been told the stretch of canal is very congested? We are wondering if it is worth booking visitor moorings at Caen Hill Marina (after descending the Caen Hill flight) and at marinas towards Bradford-upon-Avon. booke23
It’s not that bad. The stretch you describe is 12 miles of canal, so you’ll always find somewhere to moor up, especially if you have a decent length gang plank. The Bradford on Avon visitor moorings are always busy at that time of year, but you can always moor up a bit further out of town with no problems. blackrose
Surely you mean between the bottom of the Caen Hill flight and Bradford upon Avon? You descend the flight going West.
