Restriction Notice - FULL STOPPAGE 


LOCATIONS: Avon Navigation -Luddington Lock 

Description: Repair to bottom gates and foundations.

Dates and times of closure: Monday 14th February 2022 until estimated Friday 1st April 2022
 

Navigation & Special Notes

Repairs to the bottom gate pivots and foundations are required.
The bottom gates also need to be lifted to their original position.
Once access can be obtained, a full survey will take place followed by repair works once methods of repair have been defined and materials sourced.
The lock will be closed to boat passage for the full duration of the works, we will endeavor to complete these works as soon as possible before this date, however this will depend on winter flooding that may affect the works.

ANT regret any inconvenience caused and in an attempt to minimise this, notices will be posted locally. In order to improve the effectiveness of this information service, please contact the office with changes to the circulation of this notice.

some slightly better ANT news, after 2 yrs of the Avon Lock at Tewkesbury being operated by volunteers during the summer months with limited hours and virtually closed throughout the winter, the Navigation Authority intend to re instate a paid lock keeper, hopefully this will mean all year round access and extended summer hours. i gather mid March is the intended start date
