  1. Would like to add, also heating water for showers in the evening boosting the batterys (yes, they are that poor) we run for about 2 hours when ever we get home, and yes we do ask, in fact i just asked Mr Tricket if he minded
  2. Not at all my dear chris, not running a loud gennie, just a quiet heavy sound proofed boat engine. if some was to complain, i would shut it down. However, i'm not the one running a motor in gear........ I'm not trying to "piss" people off, i'm just powering my laptop
  3. Score, be warned to those of you who choose to do it........ I'm about
  4. I learnt everything boaty/ship handling through SCC and MVA, brilliant for of shore......... Not so good for in shore
  5. Our motors running right now and its 21:27, Its powering the laptop. if certain moored boats in the area complain does that mean i can slip there ropes when they have the engine running under load? Dont half throw our boat about

  9. Dont help when you have a stuffed rudder too lol
  10. The Frigate Captain comes from the 6'6'' Type 23 Frigate i built, of which will be cruising the K&A in the summer I've never used a boat/ship with a truster, If your along side to port and you wish to pull the stern out, let go aft and center spring wires, engage starboard shaft dead slow until your clear of harbour wall ect, let go for'ward and bring both shafts in to astern, once you have enough room to clear the stem. engage port ahead and starboard astern with starboard on the wheel until your straight. Both shafts ahead and your away
  11. Cheers guys, it was ref springing a boat from its mooring. much help. Thank you!
  12. Whats the best way to spring a narrow boat, i have no probs with twin screws and a wheel helm but am a bit lost on a NB???
  13. Any news on the boat fire at Hilperton?
  14. Thats why you should always keep a .22 air rifle on board, with one up the spout ready to go
  15. Bandit country?? thats a area in the southen countys of Ulster! Had stern rope cast and plank chucked in the pound yesterday
  16. Yup we learnt that one a while a ago, we're in upto our ears in legal crap with Ahem marina in ahemshire
  17. I would like to add that we're not using it as cheap living. if that was the plan we wouldnt have taken out a whopping loan to buy the boat, we also wouldnt be looking into how we will pay c/tax for the areas we'll be in! You dont know our circumstances for comuting to bristol or even how often we work so i cant see how some ppl can say we cant work and CC at the same time. Thanks to the few of you who did help me here. P.s Are we aloud to attack the toepath with a strimmer???? just would like to tidy our garden up a bit
  18. If you still need help, we're in bath. Check the pump, ours was working normal but still leaked
  19. Lechlade on the thames not far enough before we head back? We dont mind traveling, if we did, we'd sit in a marina. I have no probs being a bridge hopping gypsy bars***d as i've all ready been called. I really dont understand the whole issue with the subject. But hey, i'm just a newbie.........................
  20. Expensive? Na, cost me a pasta salad and a coffee for the engineer
  21. Cheers, only ask so we dont upset BW not to start a row on here. Dont want to step into the realm of the CC debate although i have my veiws............ Have applied for a CC leicence, not wasting money on a mooring where we cant use it as a address. We'll still be comuting into work in bristol. Picking crap out the water, reporting stuff to BW and try to keep the area tidy as we go.
  22. Hey, whats the rules for CCing? how often and how far do we have to travel? I only ask as i've been told about 4 different things so far
  23. Hey, All delt with, new starter battery was fitted today, had a engineer out on the boat for about 6-7 hours doing the all the major work had altenator fixed, some rewiring, water pump removed and re-piped and sorting new socketc and repairing cabin lights. Now we are happy!!
  24. I just thought it was wierd that the starter batt is still reading 12v and it wont turn. The ignition switch has 4 clicks, 0 1 glow and start, glow dont work, we have a button to push instead and 0 leaves the fuel pump on and we cant remove the key. When its on 1, we can remove the key no probs. New switch??? Also we have 3 110a lesuire batts a one starter
  25. We had to deal with a water rescue when i was on the ambulances, from what i can remember, there was 4 i think?.......
