  1. Morning, the other day my paltop decided to lose all network and i cant get it back, so, i ma now using my wifes laptop, just now i cant get into my account as W+T, i have tried the `forgot password` a few time but still not recieved an email to see if i can get in with a new password. Oh and this is my old account i am on now from many moons ago when i last had trouble with using another laptop. can anybody help please. Thanks Wayne
  2. Thanks kida, will keep my eyes peeled then for a half decent van
  3. I see that you can pick up cheap caravans which are good for parts, appliances, lights etc. Would these be ok to be used on a canal boat, i understand that items with gas need to be flame safe items, like the fridge etc, are caravan items the same as the boat ones used. I have loked at caravan breakers and ithe prices arent to bad but i will save £000 if i got a complete breaker. thanks wayne
  4. The main concern on condensation was inbetween the hull and cladding, it would run down to the bilge, or in my case the floor as it is glassed inplace, or will be. Anyway i think i will still insulate it then , thanks. For the insulation i was thinking a rockwool sandwiched inbetween the hull and cladding, what would be the best thichness though, i can get enough of 4" thick ata good price (cheap but not nasty) but would it be ok to compress it to 2" in the cavity. Been looking into a lot of types and my head is getting battered with all the types to choose from. wayne
  5. As above, i have a 27 foot center cockpit GRP cruiser, i see on NB`s you use spray foam and rockwool or similar to insulate your pride and joys, but is it worth it on a GRP boat, i have been told by few that as it is of the GRP stuff then it will be warm anyway as i will be using blown air heating that it willnot realy need insulation. I am thinking of cladding the sides with the pvc T&G you can get at B&Q and wicks, thast brings on the condensation part, will i need to leave the cavity behind the cladding aired for circulation? It will kmake thinghs a lot easyer if i dont need to insulate thanks wayne
  6. Ah so it was a quick one then , so thats the `self erroding` part then, if thats how its spelt sorry. Cheers matey Wayne
  7. Just a quick one here...i think. About to start on the hull paint job, i see that with antifoul that you need to launch after it is applied within 2-3 months, i will be using Flag cruising antifoul, is it the same for most/all fouls? Why is this? I am about to prime and paint the hull sides so dont need to do the hull bottom yet untill next year when i launch, but if i can do it know while there is a bit of good weahter left then i mite aswell. thanks folks wayne
  8. And wondering what you have started no dout As they say `a can of worms` pun intended
  9. Boy i cant wait to get on the cut and cruising , and then where do i fish All that was asked is about a sign. Been on the canal before and never realy found it hard to moor up to work a lock, if there is a fisher near a lock then moor just before if possible, a lot of folk that fish near locks are as siad folk that teach the kiddies or just fishing light so csn move, not match fisherman, if they are they should know better......shouldnt they. Just to say to the original poster that i agree again with signs being put up at both ends of matchs but folk dont bother to take notice, well a lot dont. This is one loosing battle between fishers and boaters Wayne
  10. As above mate, aslong as its all in the line and level for the flexi joint and the angle not out then it will be fine IMO, engines are easyer than you think to fit, sio if like you say that when it dont go then itys wrong somewhere, should slide into place nicely. good luck bud. wayne PS check you have put oil in the engine and places req before youy fire up, LOL have to admit i have done this once before, didnt realise until about 10 mins after running it, lucky it it survived
  11. Would you believe it, i knew i had that book some where, thuink it will be tricky to make some to fit the hole already cut, but if the were not yet cut then that would of been ok, a lot of trial and error would be involved, that idea is out of the window i think,,,,,,, mm was that a pun, not intended. Now on the iea of malking the front ones open, that will bed easyer, these ones They are fixed in but i should be able to remove and hinge them some how, just the matter of keeping them water tight. If this is a no go aswell then as Pete said i will fit another hatch, easyer to. thanks folks.
  12. Thanks for that, i will see about that if i need to but i am on a tight budget and they will cost a wee bit more thasn i want at the minute. Have been thinking of adding a couple of 12v fans to circulate air around the cabins, seen a few about that should do the trick, even thought of fitting air con......cheaper to go witha new set of windows.
  13. Hi all, on my cruiser i have fixed windows using rubber seals, as they are all fixed it will get a bit stuffy in there so what i need to do is fit a few opening windows. I have seen it done before but cant think where and how it was done except for they used a sheet of plywood and a lever to form ally channel of some sort to make the frame, thing is though this was done for as kit car, not surte if it will work with a boat window. Anyone have any idea how to go about it.? The cruiser was originaly made with these type of windows but it is hard to find a set to replace them, they are for a Crighton 27 cabin cruiser. I have been thinking about making them from plywood but not sure if thyat will work, any ideas folks Thanks wayne
  14. Read the few first say half dozen posts and its the same story as always with fisherman and boaters, never thought that that it was this bad myself between us canal lovers untill i came onto this forum. Its as bad with lots of hobbys, i was an off roader not long ago, some agro there, walkers didnt like 4x4`s, suzuki owners and landrover owners didnt get on etc. Humans!!!!!!! we will never get on On topic now sorry. Down the middle and signs would work for most, as said, lots of folk dont take notice, fisherman or boaters. On another thought, if the boats go throuhg a match atleast it all even with them, it will put all the pegs off (one fisher/boater that dont care either way, if you can catch that is he he)
  15. Thanks for the replys, i have gone against a stove of any type now, i have looked at the blown air type, very expensive, they are good though, i had one fitted ina caravan i once had. I dpnt need one just yet so could save the beer tokens for one. I have also seen a gas fire thast is the catalytic type, no live flame ones with flame safe cut off, could be another possibility, spose, that will depend on the BSC. The ones i have foind were used on the broads so have been used to a BSC speck, anyone know if it is different from a BW BSC spec. Wayne
