The answer is very simple. Forget the bits of paper test requirements. If you think they are superior and may save the day simply buy some, as many as you want, and Bobs yer Auntie. There is no legislation to say you cannot exceed the minimums, just have them as well. In the grand scheme of things the cost is negligible against boat costs overall. I didn't only always have the daft little ones allowed on boats I often had bigger ones from my pub onboard. Same with carbon monoxide alarms, we had four. It ain't rocket science.
