Any updates/recent experiences on any of the moorings mentioned in this conversation? Rawcliffe mooring?

Have just arrived at the top of the Wigan flight. Dismayed to find the state of the canal, we had hoped to make our way to Leeds over the next month or so. Does anyone have any information about how far it continues with this level of weed? Has anyone recently travelled through this stretch?

Our macerator toilet became blocked so I used the toilet brush to give it a gentle 'plunge' which resolved the problem. Nothing has been put down it other than toilet paper and the usual! Since then, it's working well but air bubbles are released into the toilet bowl after flushing. This is not really a problem as there's no backflow with them but is this indicative of an issue that may become a major one in the future?
