  1. Sounds tricky. Maybe slice the boards in sections. Cut a small square back to metal so you can get behind the board from different angles to try and pry a sliced section off at a time. I done this job a few months ago and found using a the claw on a claw hammer worked well for me. Sure some others will have input. Good luck
  2. @nicknorman An overtake in a wagon that takes more than a minute or two. The polite thing of the other wagon driver being overtaken is to let off and then flash back them back in. Saves all the nonsense of trucks holding traffic up for ages. ( flashing another driver back in is illegal but everyone does it) However this doesn’t always happen, and if they are running alongside you for ages your supposed to call it and abort the overtake. It’s called them holding you out. Some trucks roll away over the limiter on down hill sections to be then caught back up by the faster or lighter truck and the tailbacks just grow larger. You get it in all walks, some drivers are polite and considerate. Some wreckless and rude.
  3. This is not true. If it takes more than a minute or max two then it’s deemed a tuggable offence. Overtakes in Hgv’s need to be planned and things like traffic, road layout, hills etc all need to be taken into consideration.
  4. He should approach the Colombian cartel they are always looking for amateur submariners!

  7. Amidst all the renovations getting out cruising sometimes! Welford arm
  8. As a new boater to inland waterways I’m happy to stop and let others past, as I’m aware probably taking things steady could be equated to dawdling. But this is a fairly obvious observation, and one that anyone courteous would make. However the thread got me thinking what other canal etiquette’s are there that I may be missing?
  9. Hahaha some belters there… What ever it is it’s defo a bit of a Sciwreckko
  10. @nb InnisfreeSounds similar to the pram hood I’m getting designed except the front screen is strataglass on mine. @Rocket Rob IMO which is probably biased get ya self a Dutch style barge NB
  11. Think this is one of those Volkswagen boats. Can tell from the distinct wheelhouse. Saw this on a canal youtuby vid!
  12. I would nursert a pair of these on there, maybe in blue to match.
  13. I did look at those fin style, looks good. I didn’t fancy installing that style as already had a TV aerial setup that I just swapped out for the 4g thing! Can anyone see a unlocked 818 on Amazon that is ideally prime next day deliv ? All seem used or really really long postage times, neither of which are any good to me. If I was to run say 50 - 60 ft of 12v cable would it be a good idea to get the adjustable output voltage type converter. And how would I adjust it accordingly?
  14. The two antenna cables coming from the mast. Sorry I did say router 😑
  15. Thanks all most helpful, I have a spare 12v lead coiled up poised like a snake ready to strike any gadget in sight! Next question 🙋‍♂️ Can I extend the cables from the router, or will that affect performance?
  16. Sorry to bother everyone on this subject again! Or if this has been answered before However I’m about to buy a huweai 818 router, and I’ve just thought about the power. Am I able to run this off 12v? Or do I have to have the inverter on all the time for a router? Can’t see them drawing much power but I’m but confuzzled by it all. I have my Scancom sim ordered and I have a pontying mast installed ready! TIA
  17. Are there 10 year visitor moorings elsewhere aswell as the K&A?
  18. Thanks, will be at Crick next weekend for the show. Although I’m positive Titan have figured out what I need down to a T !
  19. Just a quick update on the ‘pram hood with a twist’ for those in a similar boat 9 (pun intended) guffaw guffaw. The Houdini windscreen are no longer being manufactured. I have been to visit Titan boat covers and spent time with the designer. They are cooking up something for me that isn’t standard. In case anyone else looking for something different they are up for thinking outside the box. Got a fitting date next month (booked this in ages ago) watch this space!
  20. Appreciate the responses, will probs chain them together!
  21. Hello folks, Can I put a padlock on a gas locker, or will that be breaking a regulation? TIA
  22. Water tank has been stripped back to shiny steel in any rusty areas. Then coated in two pack epoxy paint ‘Acothane DW’. Its a 1000 litre tank so a decent amount of water. In a heatwave I can open the lid and have a dunk!
  23. If no.3 then I’d say it’s worth 6 silver pfennigs
