Seeing the other Squirrel thread made me think about this again.
When we installed our Squirrel last year I read this part of the installation manual and could not make much sense of it.So did not install the smoke hood.
Instructions(page5)
"In some cases Morsø stoves come ready-equipped from the factory with a smoke hood (1), as
shown in the diagram. (NOTE: Not all stoves require a smoke hood).
Where applicable, the smoke hood must not be used if the stove is to be installed with a rear
flue outlet (3)."
This stove is installed in the house and has the back boiler fitted, it never gets has hot has I would like and always presumed this was just down to it being slightly undersized.
Does anyone know the purpose of the smoke hood?
Would fitting it retain more heat in the stove?
