hi, your right, you will probably get small leaks from a few pits in the steel getting really deep and then letting a small amoumt of water in through very small holes. not good, but your boat is unlikely to sink overnight, but if you've ever had a dripping tap you will know that its surprising how much water is in the sink the next day ! good luck, although im sure it'll be fine
maybe it could be converted to run on gas, easy to buy at most boatyards, run it straight from the bottle like some forklift trucks do. Im not sure if the bss people would approve though.
Im interested to know how much water you need to have floating around inside a narror boat before it'll start going down ? i suppose it depends on how low any engine vents are positioned ?
Could just call it the 'British waterways trust' all they need is a few permanent markers to add 'trust' on the end ? ive just saved bw a fortune on new stickers for the vans wheres my bonus ?
A while back i went into my local machine mart to look at the stoves, and they didnt seem very well made at all, bought a smal 5kw stove from b+q in the end £190, but much better quality.
i think the project 31's are meant to be good solid boats, thats what i was told when i was looking at them a few years ago, i still wouldnt mind getting one when i get bored of crawling along muddy litter strewn ditches in my rusty tin tube
along with a functioning sewage system, fuel for his audi, steel for narrowboats, bricks for houses, tarmac for roads, crap that you order from argos lol etc etc but maybe we could get rid of all the trucks and move it all with bicycles or something
maybe duck pecking is the real reason boats rust at the waterline, the ducks peck all the blacking off ! strangly the ducks only started pecking my hull after i'd blacked it
