  1. Very possible. I didn't inspected collar ever. The only thing I've changed is that bolt. I lost old one during engine rebuilt and push this one in (the same size). Old one did the "job" but this new one is made of hard steel standard (mark 8.8) and making squeaks when loose.
  2. Since I bought the boat, I didnt tried to pull this bolt out. Maybe you're right. Coupling is fixed with 4 other bolts (on the photo) with transmission system.
  3. Problem solved. It was this bolt untightened and making that squeak. That's my bird. I used wrench no. 13 (1/2") to tight. I wonder how to tight that bolt to never loose again? I tried with Victor Reinz dicht (gasket) mass but it not work.
  4. Yeah, probably its Tweety I rebuilt engine last year, changed all interior and exterior parts with original ones..
  5. Tony, many thanks. You gave me few ideas anyway. First I will try with more greasing since I didn't greased that last, rear nipple since I bought a boat three years ago.
  6. Its a Dutch steel motorcruiser boat 7.8x2.6 meters. After I greased closest greasing points and degreased air breather, I did some other checks: - Engine mountings are ok - I can turn shaft by hand relatively easy - No leaks - After one hour of boating on 1500 rpms and more, stuffing box, shaft and other parts stays cold - no signs of heating Here are the photos of the system. Stil I wonder what is the purpose of the third greasing point, the one far away from the transmission (its on the top of 1st photo)?
  7. Thanks for fast reply. 1 - It's greased properly, but I think I mistakenly greased air breather too last time. 2 - I will check for engine mounts. In may 2022 I did total engine rebuild. Maybe mount got loose. 3 - Since I didn't had problems with shaft before I must check for gland egg shape too. 4 - Shaft can be turned by hand when engine is off. 5 - I will check for gland drip too.
  8. Hello to everyone. I read all this about strange sound from stuffing box or stern gland and found it's similar like mine problem this days. When engine is powered in gear, and forward, strange harmonized squeak is coming from stuffing box. When going backwards - nothing. When idle, even high revs - nothing. That problem comes with no drips. I didn't inspected heating. Some ideas of what could it be are welcome. Thanks Here is the video I've made. (Don't ask me about bilge, its BMC 1.5 :D)
  9. White smoke can be due to the water leaks into the engine block or condensation in exhaust
  10. Thanks! I was surprised too. How much are general (re-build) repairs in England? I will upload before/after video after I put the boat back into the Danube.
  11. Thanks! I hope not to many can end up with same problems. In the other hand, engine is already very old. This was second rebuilt (service guy opinion after measuring piston holes). Cost was: - 900 eur for the parts (including VAT and customs taxes since I'm in Serbia - outside EU) - 600 eur for the mechanic specialist - Time used for repairs (including waiting for parts): 14 days. I spent all March for boat refurbishment while waiting for the engine. That was pretty successful too.
  12. Thanks for all answers. Engine rebuilt and works like new one now. It was messy inside - especially with bearings, shafts and sealings. Leak of fuel was due to bad workshop on fuel pump by previous specialist.
  13. Thank you @Tony Brooks and @Tracy D'arth. It seems I will spent rest of the winter rebuilding my engine. Does someone know how much money basic rebuild of inner engine components can cost ? Approximately...
