Marple flight has been closed again lock 11 is settling in and narrowing volunteers say they will be there at 10am to to measure boats and supervise passage tomorrow. three boats now moored overnight in pounds between 11 and 12 and 12 and 13

Hi Dragon narrowboats does any one know much about this companys boats it appears they make an assortment of steel products but are there hulls any good ? I am looking at a 57 ft cruiser made by them and fitted out by c&g fitters but both these companies seem to have little history. can anyone help Alan

Hi does any one have any experience of specialist training for a narrow boat on rivers and tidal waters ? I have some experience of canals locks etc but as the nearest waterways to my home are Ripon and Selby which involve the river Ouse I would not like to tackle these without training.

Hi We have just had a week with Pennine of Skipton , first time ever in a boat which and loved it , just be prepared for cold fingers and very short days , we went from Skipton up to and through Foulridge tunnel and back My wife did all the locks ( she hated steering) and managed all but the side sluices operated by a lifting wooden handle . We are both in our fifties (myself more so) and will certainly do it again , side winds were a bit of a learning curve but that apart it really was easy to control the boat just never try to rush anything ps in one week we saw only three other boats moving
