  1. I'm going to see if I can get Thurs/Fri off too. It seems rude not to
  2. I use my mum's address for my boring mail, which is fairly limited, marina for erm nothing and parcels delivered to work (waiting for parcels to go south and then up here is a pain). My mum's ace - she sends me a text to tell me what's arrived and I normally just collect it when I eventually visit. If it sounds interesting or important she posts it to work for me I did try insuring my old car to here and one insurance co refused as it wasn't a "proper" address. Ah well someone else got the business so it wasn't too much of a hardship. Previous (but one) marina was fine for post so everything went there. In fact I bet I still have some going there

    what dog?

Hm I think a "mutt" would be much nicer. A Deef sized one but with longer ears so they can blow in the wind while you're out cruising Oh and it'll need to be duck/swan friendly....

  6. Does that mean I get to have another firey go??
  7. The water is higher than usual but nothing drastic. Actually the water levels have dropped since Friday but then we have had some superb rain today so not sure how high it will be again by tomorrow. Hm that's no help at all really is it?
  8. No I don't think we're organised enough to know any more! There will definitely be beer, Leicestershire but that's about it so far
  9. I'm sure I didn't use anything like 40 bags of coal last winter although I did manage to leave the country for the very cold spell earlier in the year. Even if I factor in being here for those two weeks and having the fire lit 24 hours a day I would still have struggled to use more than 30 bags. I haven't had a fire lit for over 3 months though. But saying that you may as well budget for more and have money left over for something else (beer....) I don't get through more than one gas bottle a year (I'm sure it's 19kg) but then I don't cook every night so that will have an effect. S

  11. Yes I do share with another boat (who's away at the mo) and that was fine. I've not seen Tony Marina today but I'll check with him tomorrow if he had time to have a look at it and will report back when I find out more. My trouble is I expect it to be my fault (but then it generally is)
  12. Except I'm on 24v I've had a word with the marina guy to see if he'll take a look at the box. It can't be me as my electrics work in someone else's box just not my usual plug in point.

  16. Yup on shorepower. I hadn't plugged anything new in or switched anything on. My laptop "bleeps" when the electricity runs out, it bleeped and I went out and topped up the electrics. Came back in and nothing on 240v was working. I've now reset all of the trips on the boat and I've been out to re-set the trip on the box out there. I've also checked the connection where the 240v comes on to the boat and the plug outside - all connected fine. I'm presuming that the RCD/MCB things are the trip boxes that I've checked? Sorry very untechie I'm guessing it's just a me thing as the lights on the marina are working... Scotty/Bon - don't suppose your online and see this you could let me know if your 240v is working ok? Thankfully the work laptop has a 4 hour battery life and lets me get on here! </me goes off mumbling about how a girl is meant to get writing done so she can go to the ball tomorrow and all that>
  17. My 240v has just decided to stop working. I've definitely got credit, nothing has tripped and I've checked all connections. What's my next step other than packing up and going for a beer? </me hates electricity and thinks it hates me>

  19. My last school night for weeks and weeks! Maybe that should have been the reason to beer tonight!
  20. Only just back from Norwich although I can't complain too much as I was only meant to be leaving at 8 and not even I drive that fast Weekend beers at some point no doubt! It would be rude not to...
  21. And I'll need a beer if I'm even going to try poi in front of people Should we have a practise banter before then? Especially considering this is my first official "whole" one!
  22. Hm you can have the beer. I'd much rather have cider
  23. I guess the wind is heading northish
  24. You practising that innocent face again???
  25. How's a girl meant to do their college work with all that noise??? I don't know. Boatlife isn't always as peaceful as we make it out to be
