  1. Hello All We've been running a Haier 240v fridge/freezer (goes under counter & from Midland Chandlers) for the past 18 months. It's OK but hammers the batteries so we are switching to 12v and the choices are a Coolzone jobby (again from Midland Chandlers) or an Indel B Cruise Big Fridge (Isotherm) from Marathon. Has anyone had any dealings with either of these products? Ta muchly, Niggle
  2. Yep, they pay a fair bit as well. My local chippie was very interested in free disposal. I've made some at home in the kitchen and it's quite straightforward so long as you can obtain methanol (there are several suppliers). Modern engines are OK to run on it but rubber seals on older engines will dissolve.
  3. We completed much the same trip last week and enjoyed it all, including Leicester. Mooring above King's Lock south of the city is much safer now the Lock Keeper's cottage has opened as a Tea Room. Other good places to stop are above Barrow Deep Lock and after the sharp left under the bridge on Zouch Cut (keep well to the right when passing the weir just before this!). The moorings above Mountsorrel Lock are now lock landings only (according to the BW signs) which is a bit daft considering their length but you should be able to moor beside the field after the lock. We went down Foxton under our own steam (our first ever staircase) and didn't have any problems. Enjoy the trip!
  4. A young lad recently started working with me.......His Mum is the Producer for the Series......I've got a little job for him!
  5. Ollie and Bramble will be joining us when we move on board Sirius at the end of the year, they are very good around a boat now and do not jump off unless told. We had a few problems with ducks but they now know not to chase them! Ollie hates water, he avoids puddles when he can and hasn't shown any wish to risk getting wet when we are mooring up. Bramble used to have an insane urge to plummet off high banks (she's a good swimmer thankfully) and has been hooked out several times but she's stopped doing that.
  6. Thanks folks, soon as I saw Sabre it came flooding back......
  7. Hello All There was a semi-trad on show at the Burton IWA Festival last year that had a stern gas locker and an integral water tank. Anyone remember it's name or who the builder was? Nigel
  8. Still waiting......Builder had a bit of a problem when the workshops flooded. That means Sirius is unlikely to be launched before end of August next year :0(.
