Nice theatre though......

Tesco at Fenny Stratford is about a 10min walk as well. There's a small One Stop shop at Giffard Park by the pub.

Have you tried taking out the delivery valve and checking for flow, they tend to stick now and again??

I put the AC in Gorse when I owned it in the late 80s. It replaced an SR2.
The gearbox went after about 6 months and was repaired quite easily.
The engine had hand start but was almost impossible to hand start without the use of the cotton plugs that screwed into the head, I think they were called Zundfix? Got stuck one time in the winter without any and had about 4 blokes taking turns at starting it which it finally did after about an hour!
I have a Puck P-24z two stroke twin cylinder diesel which can use these in one of the cylinders. They really work and I suspect handy in the colder months!

We allow 7 days at Langley Mill, and like to think we do a proper job, without cutting corners. If anything goes wrong we would not hesitate to put it right at our expense.

As far as I can tell from the phone messages SSA is still on, I would err on the side of caution.
I assume that the journey is Billing to White Mills, the bridge at the exit of Billing will be "interesting" if there is any flow on, the approaches to the two locks are fairly sheltered unlike Ditchford ?
Coming out of Billing to go upstream with a full length breasted pair is even more fun!!

We allow liveaboards to stay onboard at Langley Mill Boatyard at the top of the Erewash, and have a couple of gaps in the diary, if it fits in with your schedule.
Give us a call or drop a message for current availability.
Kind regards
Dan

Hi,
Thank you. I have done a google search but nothing much came up. Certainly this hadn't.
It may very well be her. I think she has gone through several transformations in her time and she wasn't 'cut and shut' until the end of the 1960's.
Thanks Dan. Will do. I found a site not long after we bought her which illustrated liveries - can't find it again! Also did see the thread you mention and didn't save that either. It doesn't seem to come up in the search above.
Hi Sara
Here you go
Page 319 onwards
Kind regards

Hi Sara,
It sounds like you have cracked on a bit with her! If I recall a few of us gave a load of info about her last June on another thread? With regards her livery, look up grand union canal carrying company liveries, there's a couple to choose from, and also under British Waterways as well.
Kind regards
Dan

The number of builders who can build a hull, which looks right, and has the correct underwater shape to swim through the water, is slowly dwindling. Brinklow Boats are still very much top of the list.

We've offered an engraved plaque out of a piece of reclaimed wooden boat planking to the winners specification.

I've seen photos of them installed in back cabins in later days, can't remember where though. I'll do some digging.

With two 70ft boats to heat with 3 squirrel stoves, we reckon on a bag every 2 days, so pretty comparable I reckon.

It is the Scales and linked to Brinklow Boats.

Ironically I shipped an AS1, 5 AS2s and an AS3 as well as spares from just South of Oslo not 18 months ago...... off the top of my head 7 pallets Inc. Import duty was about a grand.

That looks lovely. Pm me your number and I'll give you call.

Thank you all.
My knowledge of these are very limited, and the one I called marinised might actually be a marine auxiliary unit, as mentioned by BWM above here. The white one with 8500 hours on it hasn't been running for 60 years according to the seller, but it turns. It might also have done a full round on the hourmeter - or two - but I don't think it looks worked to death. The other one with the wet exhaust is history unknown, but the appearance of it might suggest a very good object. The current owner has not had it running, and wants to sell it due to storage problems.
I like new acquantainces in the mechanical department, even though I have too many projects as it is. If I buy one or both I might try to get them running and sell them, keep them, restore them, or trade them for something else.
I'm lacking a nice AS3 in my collection, I have a couple of AS1's and a few AS2's, of which a couple recently got the full treatment and turned out pretty nice. So if anyone has a nice AS3 lying around and wants one of these we might work out a deal. uggestions welcome.
I have 3 AS3s currently, one full marine and two industrials, depending on your preference!

Nice!
Water cooled, I assume, but I don't see any plumbing.
Does it come with a gearbox?
And where is it destined to go?
Hi David,
It is water cooled, there is a twin gear water pump at the rear of the engine, to the right of the screen with the yellow hose on the input. the second pump chamber was designed as a bilge pump which is what we will use it for as well. The output is direct from the heads and running out a 22mm pipe to the top right of the video.
It does have a gearbox, just out of shot, which is as long as the crankcase, on a direct drive, swinging a 20" prop. It is destined to go in our newbuild when we ever get round to starting it........

Another search term "dwusuwowy" is polish for "two stroke"
This one comes up with a sailforum.pl page referencing puck 2 stroke diesels.
"dwusuwowy diesel puck"
Most helpful, thank you very much, it has uncovered a couple of useful bits, many thanks!
