I Live in Napton. I'm surprised at the response to the camping. Perhaps if someone spoke to Sooty directly you'd get a different response? Whilst it is not a campsite and doesn't have 'facilities' they do a few events in the year (motorbike club meets etc) where people do camp on the lawn out the front. If you say it is a regulare event: Napton Banter Canal World annual meeting they might be more receptive?

I too looked at this boat. It is the right size but a (little) bit dear. I am not blind or on a galloping horse but did not realise you would be very flexible on price. What did I miss? What would I need to do to to make it a liveaboard? Is there anything stopping this from being achievable? What would be the cost? It attracted me as being well engineered, having a good quality engine (I'd assumed not may parts would be required - German/Japanese engineering is a positive not a negative for me - as an engineer myself) Aslo having a sort of wet cabin/engine room to keep things in instead of on top of the boat appeals from a security perspective even if it takes up room. Whaley Bridge is a long way go to see the layout if it is wrong. What about a sketch of the layout using one of the free design a boat things?

How come BW are removing residential moorings and replacing them with non-residential marina based ones? Are they trying deter people living on boats full time (as I wish to do)?
