  1. As far as I’ve been told especially after posting pictures the engine is a BD 3 . As for the hoses I think after looking on line I can have them made up. It’s not that I need the immediately but I like to carry spares.
  2. Thank you very much I’m glad I now know what it is a BD 3. Thank you I will try that .
  3. I can take more pictures if you like it would be good to clear up what the engine is , ether a BD3 or a JD 3 . As for the manual is was forwarded to me by a kind gentleman on this forum so may or may not be correct for this engine. I will post a pic of it . I think that should read DB David Brown.
  4. I’m not sure I think now it’s a JD 3 it has a ford block . So far it’s ok but what concerns me is the hoses ether end of the heat exchanger and the reduction hoses from the engine.
  5. Thank you , I don’t think the straight pipes are a problem as you say cut to length it’s the tapered hose that looks the tricky one to get . I’ve contacted Beta about this but they don’t sound as if they have anything.
  6. I have a manual thank you . So far the engine is ok but I would feel better if I had some spare hoses. I’m no sure how old the ones fitted are .
  7. I think you’re right it’s a JD . any idea where to get spare hoses. Any parts?
  8. Hi I have a beta tug engine a bd3 . Is beta the only place for spare parts like hoses or any parts come to that.
  9. Could you please let me know part numbers for the oil and fuel filters and there is a water trap filter before the fuel filter. That would be very useful thank you .
  10. That looks like it . Thank you for all this info and I look forward to seeing the manual.
  11. Thank you I don’t have a manual. What does BD stand for ? I was thinking of when I get time to connect a small bar to the throttle and bring the control cable connection to the back of it so it’s easy to change a broken cable because I can’t see a way of getting at that it as it is . Arthur.
  12. Another number I have found on he block HH2 OE29
  13. Thank you I will have a look for that .
  14. What picture would identify it ? It has a beta no on it Beta 20010001.that’s on the rocker cover .
  15. I’m not sure it’s a beta tug engine and as far as I know it’s a jd3 , I don’t know that info could be wrong but the throttle cable looks a right bbb to do . I don’t need the change it as of yet but I don’t fancy stripping part of the engine to get at it .
  16. The outside cable is the stop the throttle is in behind.
  17. Very good ha ha ha as you probably know it should have read I’ve just bought a boat. but thanks for you help .
  18. Changing the subject slightly has anyone changed the throttle cable on a jd3 ? mice just bought a boat with a jd3 and the throttle connection looks well buried behind the top of the fuel pump. And tips on how to go about this would be appreciated. Thanks Arthur.
  19. Hi thanks for reply. I think you’ll find if your brother qualified for winter full payment and you use the same address there could be problems.
  20. Hi I’m thinking of leaving my marina which will save me money. So if I become a continuous cruiser and loose my address how do I manage for winter full payment/ bus pass all those sort of things that get posted to the marina .
  21. Thank you. the Kelvin came out of a narrowboat and it was something 4 but I would be guessing without looking at it . if I did fit it into a boat it would be doing the Thames regularly so that would give it a good run . I’m in no hurry something will turn up and I do appreciate your help. Arthur.
  22. We I never . Thank you for that I’ll keep that info for future reference.
