I tried to make sourdough starter in a glass jar, fed her for few days, even named her, but in the end it proved bit too much, so threw the lot after around 4 days...

both cyclists and walkers are inconsiderate, cyclists dont realise that walkers cant hear them coming and some ride too fast. walkers think they own the towpath(3 or 4 of them walking side by side knowing fully well that its being used by cyclists and other walkers coming from opposite side). Some idiots walk exactly in the middle of towpath with a headphone..

Have to love the how everyone is Sherlock Holmes in this matter. The police have said the boat belongs to the new owner that’s ME. I’ve revived messages of threats etc from the previous owner who has been informed he is not allowed to contact me or approached the boat. He has repeatedly broke the law and continues to try and contact me.I have not stolen a boat, he confirmed there is a contract in place, if he wishes to go via a civil case for breach of contract etc he’s welcome to but in almost 3 months he hasn’t and didn’t make any police report until I owned the boat for 2 months. The boat is licences and insured in my name. I have taken almost 3 months to move the boat to ins current location at most a 6 day journey if I wanted to move her fast, I don’t think 3 months is that fast really. I’m getting fed up of people making assumptions if the previous owner thought he had an argument for ownership why not come on here and say so he’s been invited and had told people on Facebook he would do. It’s pathetic that people think this kind of treatment is acceptable.
you dont need to prove anything to random people on internet... let people speculate...

Never met him.
He does have my phone number and address though.
scary.. anybody could impersonate you using extensive info from internet...

net led lifestyle if he googles your boat name and looks at this forum he will see lots of pictures of it and what you have spent in looking after it over the years and will know he doesnt need a survey.
if the guy is a multi millionaire and 27k is like small change then fine... otherwise its utter stupidity...

Our buyer is being very trusting. We are getting the money next week. He won't get the keys we are putting them where the boat transport guys can access them. We will have his money and he won't have seen the boat or know that it even physically exists ?
He isn't going to even see the boat until it is transported to its new mooring in Norfolk.
He has had no survey so is taking us on our word for the condition of the boat.
did he meet you at least and know where you live?

Just searched again loads of hits to this thread and by the bottom of the 3rd page the results are back to 2007.
It's as if search is excluding a period from September 2020 until the start of this thread.
can you change your sort order from 'date' to 'relevancy' ?

Yes I have it selected, I have also tried by author, thread title, and others it just didn't want me to see it. Still I have it now and it wasn't as profound as I remember.
you have changed content type... which is why you get some result now... attach screenshot please
-
you need to show us your search filters... click on '+more search options' and give us the screenshot... there is little reason for search functionality to act differently on your mobile
-
@Loddon please make sure you have 'All content' in content type... click on '+More search options' button.
-
It shows up on 3rd page if you search 'Victron' (both body and title) and sort by relevancy...

I think it will be end march... by that time most of 60+ will be vaccinated and death rate will be pretty low

if the contact is in your friend list, you need to unfriend him/her on fb and block like alias suggested.
on messenger you can long press/touch on a contact and then from the menu you first block the contact then delete the conversation.

Sorry too. I meant the Home Screen on a iPad when you turn it on. For example if I’ve had emails I get a little blue dot on the email icon
dont have ipad but if the recipient has set up like most people do, it will show the message preview(or at least the notification that a message has arrived) on lock screen. Upon unlocking home screen will show an icon of messenger that implies there are unread messages.

Was this "someone" an intruder or a helpful friend? If the latter, perhaps he should help you again.

Thanks. Would their general screen show that they’d received a message or would they have to actually OPEN messenger before they realised?
sorry did not understand your question. which general screen? you mean the facebook app? or messenger app? (assuming recipient is using mobile)
-
means your message is with facebook and will be delivered to recipient when he/she logs in.

Not to bring politics into this thread but all the people who want the unsustainable govt expenditure(covid or otherwise) to continue should know its will come from pockets of younger generation, next time you feel aggravated by young folks(especially teenagers), remember that.

You've hit on a valid but rarely talked about point.
On balance, a liveaboard is likely to be poorer than average.
On balance, a boatowner who also owns a house is likely to be richer than average.
Before the forum starts attacking me for this, I realise this is a broad brush and there are many exceptions, but I stand by what I've said and I think it's at the root of a lot of the division between boaters on the cut. The discrimination towards both 'shiny boaters' and 'canal pikeys'. Certainly there are forum regulars who are clearly wealthy and often make uninformed comments because they simply can't grasp how the 'other half' live.
I have observed it goes both ways... less well off boaters hate wealthy boat ownsers(usually with newer widebeam high spec boat), but being jealous of somebody better off than us is very british thing to do.

Depends on you age and how much money you got now, and where you want to live.
I think for most people with average income, its possible to have a house and a boat in cheaper part of uk.
You should consider buying a house, now that mortgage is cheap, and house price will be stable for some time. Get help from govt for deposit.
If nothing else, it will give you mental peace/stability.

once restrictions are lifted, you can try an airbnb narrowboat to stay overnight... usually costs around £100 per day.
there is one near Barnoldswick (£140 for two days)
Survey needed to be done.

and so nice to see the forum members helping a newbie step by step...(considering we try to rip each other apart in other threads) I just wish you were here before you put the deposit.
