Yes I reckon it should now be ‘Dunk’ and yes it was an adventure, good job we finally got water as I spent last night throwing up canal water ?

I am Dunc and I am plodging after falling in whilst pumping out at Oxley Marine. I hope that Callum the engineer who made it possible for me to shower, has a chuckle at the attached photos ?

Home safely, thank you all for the great advice, I did get persistent with the hire company and they came out and did pretty much what quite a few of you suggested, took the guy around 20 minutes and we managed to moor up just before dark. Once again I really appreciate the help I had with planning my week on the water and for all the comments when I had my hiccup yesterday. Hope to be cruising again soon, think I have been bitten with the bug ??

I am near Forster Bridge 68 and rudder has come out of cup , any ideas on how to repair .

Thanks for all your advice and tips, I think I am going to bow down to your experiences and plan based on Capt Peggs suggestions. Day 1 : Norbury to Gnosall Day 2 : Gnosall to Compton (fish and chips or pub) Day 3 : Compton to Swindon (Green Man is a proper local pub with food) Day 4 : Swindon to Whittington and back to Kinver Visitor Moorings Day 5 : Kinver to Wombourne (Round Oak) Day 6 : Wombourne to Brewood Day 7 : Brewood to Norbury

Hi all, I am a first timer boater (if that’s the correct terminology), myself and a group of friends, 2 males and 3 females, mainly retired have booked a Narrowboat for the first week in June. We have hired from Norbury Wharf and our destination is Kinver. After spending a few hours trying to plan our trip, I have identified the following potential night time stops, Navigation Inn Gnosall, Wagon and Horses Wombourne, The Vine Kinver, Round Oak Wombourne, The Bridge Brewood and then last night at the Norbury Junction, don’t really want to travel on the last day as the boat has to be back for 09.30 am. I would appreciate any feedback advice warnings etc, many thanks, Duncan and motley crew
