  1. I think i got it sorted. Only issue left is the terminal wires they sent me are short as hell. And they haven't labelled what gauge they are at all. Is there any way to find this out?
  2. It is the sunshine c-series 1500w model. It came with a bunch of extra internal fuses which I believe to be 30a blade fuses. I believe they should be replaceable since I got extras. Sound right?
  3. Inverter arrived! Now to try and find a mega-fuse. Looks like EVERY STORE IN BRISTOL does not sell them. ? Will the world end and my boat explode if I wire this thing up for a day or two and buy a mega fuse through the net? Or am i just courting disaster here.
  4. Thanks for all the help everyone! I think i'm comfortable with this now.
  5. Ah right, scratch that, 350 then. the original suggestion.
  6. Right... SO... I'm just gonna go with... 200a fuse for my 1500w sunshine inverter and hopefully that side of this argument was correct lol.
  7. Does this mega fuse go between the battery and the inverter positive terminal? Also, my batteries are currently attached to a solar charger, which all my 12v lights and pumps are also connected to... and there are a munch of blade fuses... i dunno exactly how it works... I'm assuming i avoid all this and attach the inverter directly to the batteries with a mega fuse between them? Been looking online for a basic guide for this but nada.
  8. Cheers, just purchased it without the megafuse before I saw this message (damn it). Will purchase a mega fuse kit too, in the meantime, will my inverter blow if I try to get it going without the mega fuse?
  9. Did you get the inline mega fuse kit? If so, should I? Haha cue the ridiculous questions!
  10. I'm seriously considering getting this right now. Do you know if there is a big difference with the C-Series models.. I can't see what the difference is, but its cheaper than the normal sunshine model of the same wattage. ? https://www.sunshinesolar.co.uk/Item/C150012
  11. So the general consensus here is victron or higher, otherwise your boat will sink?
  12. That sounds great, should I send you a PM or something? Sidenote: not actually sure what MSW is and if it means anything edit after thought: ah modified sinewave i bet
  13. The poster of the video runs it fine with a 1300w continuous inverter, so figured 1500 would handle it as well.
  14. Definitely wont need 1.5kw often at all, just want that so if in the future I want to buy the washing machine covered below I can.
  15. Hey people, I am in need of an inverter to run some basic equipment from my boat that won't run on 12v. I hear great things about Mastervault (i think thats the name), Victron etc. However I do not have nearly the funds to purchase one of these right now. I don't need any kind of multi charger inverter, just an inverter hopefully around 1.5kw constant. Basically i'm looking on ebay and amazon for something cheap (< £200) that will work for the foreseeable future, dont care if it dies some day, just need something that works for now. Hoping someone on CanalWorld forums is slumming it like me and could share some advice on the best of the worst. Please don't lynch me..
  16. Aye, seems that way.. Guess bath is as far as we can go then.
  17. Thanks for all the feedback! I'll make sure to time it right with the weather, and mooring sounds difficult. Finding a 14 day mooring in saltford or keynsham sounds very unlikely from what you're saying. Bit of a shame.. ?
  18. Where can i check the status in the future?
  19. Hello! We are currently cruising along the kennet and avon canal and we want to eventually head up towards keynsham for a bit and then back again. I hear the river avon has a current and can flood. Do you have any tips for us to navigate the river avon and back safely? Thanks for any advice in advance.

  21. That baby grass snake is god damn adorable!
  22. Cheers for the answers! He's got a harness and i was gonna get a life jacket for him (we have 2 for ourselves). I'll make sure he has an area for himself and teach him to swim. Hopefully he should be fine on the boat as he is already quite comfortable on my motorcycle when its running.
