any thoughts, i am planning a holiday on the grand union/oxford and ashby canal not sure when to go,either mid april or early october. was on the llangolin in october wet but nice although the nights got dark early. any suggestions would be most appreciative

I am thinking of holidaying on the grand Union/Coventry/Oxfrd canals i want to take in the Ashby and grand union possibly down to Braunston can anyone sugest best starting place, i want to use a full week and not too many locks so far i have looked at gayton and valley cruisers out of Nuneaton any ideas would be appreciated

You could try the Llangolan canal only 2 locks Black prince do some good boats based at chirk, if you ring late you get a good discount

I hired a Dutchess boat from Black Prince Chirk in October and it was Brilliant clean,tidy, very spacious and in general the staff were very helpful would reccomend them anytime Passed a lot of Alvechurch boats and between them and BP they were the best fleets on the cut Mick

we had a week in october,brilliant no ques no long procession of boats,sheer bliss,started from chirk, cant wait for next year,on the grand union

Try Ringing Black Prince about 5 days before you go,you should get about 20-25% discount,also latelink is a good site Mick
