  1. I'm missing him already (sob)

  2. We have wide beam working boats working through here ( grand union ) throughout the week, although they have a bad name (created by themselves) others and myself have no problem with them. They try to stay over as far as they can when needed, they even try to give way when they clearly have the right to go. As for the other PLEASURE boaters on there wide beams, well they fairly game until people start to give them undue slander. Who are we to chose that we should all live on narrow boats. As long as we all realise that we are not the biggest thing out here and accept that, followed by giving them the respect that we all seek from each other, what is your problem. Don't get me wrong, I would love to ban all widebeams from our canals but lets live for today, it is keeping us alive, and could be an excuse to keep red diesel. So lets start to think about the future as it is looking fairly crappy at the moment until we start to get a value on the canals we are on a hiding to hell.
  3. At least I got out of bed this morning unlike some. AND NOW THIS PROVES MY POINT.... You really have no idea how childish you really are. You live in your little world and think nothing can hurt you. I can say with full confidence JUST YOU WAIT.
  4. So to update then.... You as Fellow Boaters are more concerned with the fact that Nestle or Cadbury's or who ever have down size the amount that they sell you whilst increasing the price. No real surprise there then as the goverment have been doing it for years. As for British Waterways they are all way to busy on holiday where ever to even give a s#'t about us. The good news is that the rubbish is no longer a problem as one of the other boaters here has moved it for BW. The bad news is that the owner PASSED AWAY this morning. So before any of you think about trying to make a joke, maybe you should think about his two daughters.............. I on the other hand can sleep tonight knowing that I tried to help QUOTE 'the old soak' (not my words) and I know that I made a difference even if BW made his life harder. So now lets see what you so called BOATERS say........................... He was sixty five years young and the world was his for the taking. And as a sideline to this thank you Eugene for your attentions so far. Unfortunately your fellow staff and management dont follow your lead. (and yes i am not HAPPY) So lets see where this one goes and how long it is before you all start to take the micky out of DEATH.
  5. signed, and passing it on to as many as i can. Lets make sure this makes a difference.
  6. But pushing it away does not resolve the problem though. The problem could be resolved if the Land owner gets involved and takes some action, even if it has to take legal proceedings against the culprit.
  7. I know that Eugene Baston post here off his own back, I do appreciate the fact that he has taken the time to even respond here. But nothing is a simple as it seems and as i said before this is not the place to air the issues. But at least I can say that BW are aware that there is a problem here (as are most boaters across the country) and that they cannot say that we have not complained. I the rubbish was all bagged up then taking it and putting it in a bin in the park would have been something I would do but as it is not, it is slowly dragging itself up the tow path I am not prepared to. Besides that why should I clean up another persons rubbish? Leave it to BW and then if they want to pursue the offender then they can I will just sit back and relax knowing that I still pay my mooring fee and gold license and get the same response from BW every time they pass my boat, got license and mooring plates ignore it. If I clear the rubbish this time, then next time it would probably be more and worse. Its a vicious circle that I am not prepared to get in to. Besides that others boaters might say if we throw it on the tow path Tim will pick it up and before you know it I am doing free rubbish collection for this whole stretch of the canal. Never going to happen. This situation has only wound me up because BW have not even tried to help until I posted here. SAD but TRUE. If the true is know I don't honestly care about it as its not right outside my boat but the local residents, other boaters and other people that use the tow path keep moaning at me???????????? So now when they moan at me I just say look at this website and you will see what is being done about it.
  8. You come and live with the vermin here. The situation requires urgent attention. I am not hiding, in fact directly the opposite. If BW would like to meet me then thats fine, tell me when and I will be here. I am trying to get some action to resolve a problem and at the moment I still have nothing. The complaint procedure can be carried out via email and that is also in the process of being completed. NOTE : still not heard from Eugene Baston. (and that is the complaints procedure). But I will give him the benefit of the doubt he may have been in a meeting all day or something. It does not bother me to be seen or heard but if I can avoid it all then that suits me. Unfortunately that is not possible in this situation so I have to make myself heard and if BW would address this situation then I could go back to my quite life here.
  9. I fully appreciate that we all need sleep and to take holidays before we loose them. But for one person to go away on holiday and the whole of BW to become unavailable to respond is not really very helpful. Eugene, I have forwarded the email I sent yesterday to you please let me know whether you get it or not. I can at last see that BW is trying to address this situation, providing that the email problem is resolved then we might start to make some progress. I look forward to hearing from BW very soon.
  10. We are debating the problem of trying to get action from BW. My opinion is my own, freedom of speech, I think you may find that if you asked the right questions you would get a very similar picture, from others. It does not make it anything to do with me or the way I treat my staff at work. So if you have something to add that is either in defense of BW or attacking them then please feel free to respond. You seem to be the sort of person that makes these forms of communication worthless.
  11. Still wouldn't wanna work for ya tho. You never know. I would like to keep my employment to the canals. Force money back into the system and all that. It all depends on you really. I do have a good side ( I just have to remember where I left it). I am always on the look out for new staff, but this is not an ad for employment. I will say this is an ad for employment when I need staff. This is all about BW. please lets get back to that.
  12. No. You know nothing about me and you know nothing about my job so I think that this is not the place for this discussion. Let us try to stay focus as you are trying to make this about ME and its not at all. Have you heard of blinkers? Put some on and focus on the issue of this forum. This is not about me, my company or anything like the way I treat my staff. It is about BW read the forum and try to focus please.
  13. That's the problem they are just like my dog, they keep coming back for more.......(loyal Labrador's) I can't be that bad the staff seem happy to me!!!!!!!!!!!! No one has said that they don't like me.... Besides if I don't moan they know something is wrong. If I don't moan then they don't earn me money and I can't pay their wages, win win for me really, I get to complete my hobby and they get payed. As for the rest of that what do you mean responsibility (i am a boater) development???????????? coaching, catch a bus i aint got time, Delegation, I am good at that now, TEA NOW. sorted. No seriously I am not that bad, ask them they are boaters too. This BW situation has brought out the not very happy Tim. But thats going away from the problem here don't you think.
  14. New you might be, I am not that old either. Wait until they don't want to help you.... Especially if it is something that you feel is affecting you directly. Then lets see how long it takes before you are forced to do something like this. I spend my days at work moaning at my staff and suppliers, the last thing I want to do is come home to more moaning at people. But I feel that this situation is now starting to affect me personally, the local house residents complaining about it, the other boaters moaning about it (and many other things, as we boaters are supposed to!). If life was working correctly this forum would be full of people discussing the whether, knitting, and that sort of thing not sitting here complaining cos they cant get any sense out of the so called authority in charge. The workers do a great job, if they are told what to do, when to do it, how to do it and to what standard. Then you get the caring staff that put in the extra (all the BW ground crew that I have come across). I would never take the praise away from the people in the front line here on the ground. The fault lies squarely with the Management. If they ask their staff to come here and clear the rubbish then it's done. Not that I want others clearing up other peoples rubbish but if the Management cant get the culprit to do it then someone has to. I will clear it up if someone pays me..... NOTE TO SELF :- Unpaid mooring warden. Get money first.
  15. No because I already know they have the system and all it needs to say is that they have received an email from yourself and the staff will be dealing with the problem in a set period say 5 days and would be in contact within that time frame to tell you of the outcome. At least the customer would know that someone received the complaint. Customer care at its best. As long as they follow through until completion.
