I have an old classic canvass cratch cover that is becoming very stiff and difficult to button up.. Could anyone recommend a product that will re-energise and soften it up a bit? Thanks in advance. DGC

I'd like to thank everyone who took the trouble to give me advice. I've got much to be going on with
-
Thanks, of course it's hard to know the quality of the fuel isn't it,? I get mine from the marina.
-
It always starts first time, despite the temperature.
-
No, it wasn't a hire boat as I have the documented history from when it was built. But, I have no way of knowing how all the previous owners looked after it.
-
I know the boat was looked after, and the lady I bought it from had it a year and hardly, if ever, left the marina.
-
The Tachometer has never worked.
-
The boat was built in 2002, I purchased it a year ago. It has always done this.

Hi Mike, I've no idea how hours are on it, but I did 90 last year, and about 30 this year.
-
The other thing that always happens is that when I give the engine a big rev, either in forward or reverse, clouds of blue smoke appear.
-
I was hoping for a more hi-tec solution
-
Yet my engine oil level is ok.

Hi, Hope someone may be able to help. I have a Yanmar Barrus Shire 3-cylinder 3TN74 engine that continuously smokes smelly blue exhaust fumes. The engine itself runs very well but I am getting tired of the diesel smell. Have you any suggestions that can fix this? Best David

I am hoping to buy a narrowboat privately from someone who is moored permanently in a marina. To get a full survey carried out I understand that the cost of taking the boat out of the water is down to me. What charge might I expect to have to pay the marina? They have a slipway they pull boats out with rather than a crane. Best David
