  1. Hello, the crankshaft of my 1944 Lister 9-1 needs grinding so I have to remove the balance weigts. How did you do this yob on your mates lister some years ago? kind regards Jarne from the Netherlands.

      Hi there

       

      From what I can remember, the balance weight is held on by a single stud/nut arrangement.

       

      The thing that most people miss is the small dowel (sometimes a grub screw) that goes in the side of the web that locks the nut/stud arrangement.

       

      Mark the weight(s) so that they go back on in excatly the same orientation/order that they came off. They are individually fitted/drilled from new and need to go back on the same way.

    JP2 woes

    Hello, Can you please tell me how did you remove the balance weights? I am working on a Lister JP1 (9-1) that needs grinding. There are some kind of locking pins in the sides of the weights, do they have tread? Do I have to drill them out? Kind regards.
