    we used CO2 in a massive switchroom and battery room. needed proper training and safeguards before dumping the CO2 because it suffocates the fire ... along with anyone in the building.

    we'll prob'ly be advised by a member of the FireSafe group (or somesuch) that we are not competent to install and periodically shake these fire extinguishers, and BSS inspectors will be exceeding their remit if they touch them. There must be some obscure regulation that covers this.

    what a hero. I hope that all your knowledge about things to look out for when fitting a gas pipe in a boat can also be found on your website.

    there are many good reasons why diesel engines are almost universal in boats of all types these days. if you go back 50 years petrol engines were the norm, in small cruisers, open launches and speedboats, but lessons were learned and diesels became the norm. ............. don't even think about petrol unless it's an outboard mounted on the transom.
