My smev all in one hob/oven/grill has a block on the back for wiring up the ignition. There is no 12v near the cooker so I am wondering if it would be possible to wire up a small battery like a pp3 for the ignition and if anyone else has done this? Thanks.

Hi I have two alternators one wired to the starter and one wired to 4 x 110 amp batteries I want to split charge. -

Does anyone have a picture of how these relays are wired up please as I've bought a 120amp relay but my mechanic friend said its only for split charging one battery/alternator. -
Thanks for the replies. It's a sure cal. It's just slightly dripping from the top of the element ( right in the middle) I thought turning it upright may have eased the drip! Thanks.

I've checked the inverter model I have it's a Multiplus 12/3000/120 and it has a little round screen attached via a cable so I assume this is the remote?

Tesco and some other super markets have recycling bins. If anyone's interested how about creating a google map with recycling points for boaters that everyone can share and add to?

The engine is a low hours Isuzu. I'm starting to think spending £500 on solar rather than a generator might be a better idea!

I am thinking about getting a suitcase 2kw kipor generator as I have been told just running my engine in neutral will cause glazing! I have an inverter with a 120 amp charger built in can anyone explain to me how plugging a generator into my shore power socket will work? Will the generator have to be left running for hours? Is it safe to have a generator on a bracket off the back as the manual says it should use an earth rod? Thanks.

I have had a friend who is a mechanic remove the sterling charger and connect the batteries to each alternator, so one to the starter and one to the domestic bank. I showed him the 120amp relay and he's scratching his head a bit in terms of connecting it up. He is concerned my cables are heavy and the connectors on the relay are just little spades and a couple of bolts! Are there any pictures we could refer too please?

Where is the best place to mount a TV ariel on a narrowboat and what on ? I am unsure if I should get some kind of long pole to fix an ariel or get a satellite dish? The front of the cabin roof has a good 6 inch lip on it that would get in the way so I am wondering if the cabin side is advisable ? Thanks.
