It has been proven time and again culling does not and will not work.The only reson BW are continuing this cull is purely for finacial gain in order to appease some of the clubs that rent certain stretches. These clubs are 30 years behind and forward thinking clubs know that the zander (and pike ) will settle into a natural order with no adverse affect on the fishery. This in return produces specimen sized fish which then increses membership. Tinca Steve got my back up because quite simply no angler should advocate the culling of any fish.

Been fishing long Tenchy ? suspect your a match angler and obviously dont give a toss for any other anglers interests. Zander have been established for over 100 years a bit longer than you I expect although with that attitude maybe not.

Only an error !! I ended up in hospital for a week ,damn painfull it was too.

And a very sucessfull angler too . I've often watched him put the bait in and am truely amased how quick he gets a bite.

Your spot on Carl. As a rule boats have no effect on fish whatsoever on waters that have always had boat activity in some form or another. The only exception to this rule is where we have found large carp that have been hit by power boats, obviously not on canals or rivers.

You kind of lost me there Janet. I'm sat here covered in tar. Edited to say I think I caused the confusion for myself. What I was trying to say was that the noddies masquerading as anglers could never be educated because they don't want to and the same applies to some boaters so the conflict stays causing unecessary problems all round. It will never change.

Education is what's needed, together with courtesy and respect for other users. Janet Thats right Janet but we have to remember you can only educate the ones that want to be educated.

A bit sketchy really but I just had a phone call from my brother who said he had just seen on his local news (Derby) that a lady narrowboater was travelling the canal at Stenson. When approaching a bridge with a tractor crossing it she decided for some reason to hold back and just as well she did because at that moment both bridge and tractor collapsed into the canal narrowly missing her. Like I said its a bit sketchy at the moment but no doubt someone will have the full details shortly.

Hot and cold ice cream. 1 big dollop of vanilla ice cream and then grate a small amount of ginger on top. Preperation time 15seconds time to eat possibly less. Done. Quick and easy icecream that is both hot and cold at the same time. You cannot fail with that one unless of course you eat the icecream before you get home .
