Roger,If you are fed up with hearing about Mooring Issues, then don't read them. The only question asked was about Winter moorings, surely this needs only a polite reply if you could just answer the question, not a tirade about BW and boating for the so called wealthy. As for responding angrily, well I can't be bothered, lifes just too short.

We don't live on our boat and our BW moorings are not considered residential, but recently on our home mooring we had two liveaboards and BW just turned a blind eye. As long as you keep the moorings tidy and don't cause any problems then I think they are in a way glad that someone is there to keep an eye on things.

Now Richard, do you want me to draw a diagram? The end that attaches to the PO point on the side of the boat is dipped into the canal if there is no better water supply, the other end is left in situ at the outlet point eg:Elsan disposal, then we use the hand pump to pump the cleaner water through the pipe. Also if you put some clean water into the holding tank you can pump that through as well several times.

You give it a last good PO in clean water or the cut if nowt else available to clean it.

Leesan or Midland Chandlers both do them. I think the one from Midland Chandlers works out a little cheaper.

OUCH! I know the feeling. Until something like this happens I don't think any of us actually realise how dangerous the simple pastime of boating actually is.
