  1. thanks Pete.. It seems to charge higher on 0 than -10 dedrees. All major companies I have dealt with have customer support; Morning Star is one. Last sentence is for Mike CHEERS
  2. i kind of like the tracer, but not the company. No consumer help at all, none. I have never figured out the temp.comp thing. I will spend more money next time and go o one who has customer service.
  3. sorry but i must apoligish. I did a goole and found out that lpg rating for CO2 is not as good as most woods; but if the flame is kept 'blue' i will be burning effectifly. So i will be concuise on what i do and get a detecter. Off subject: does anyone know how to remove the bowl from a suzuki 2.5 DF carburater. Cheers
  4. i politley disagree with my friends from the home land. I have been heating my sailboat with lpg for ten yrs. A four burner range. Sometimes i use one burner, sometimes two and once in a while three burner turned at diff. Levels, what ever i think the heat should be. I would be very scared about solid fuel, talk about carbon monoxcide. Me and my parrot are very safe. If it was not safe you would never see gas usedin differant types allowed in a place where people live. What about all the lpg furnances in homes and cottages.
  5. well here in sunny florida..believe me it isnt always that way. Overcast today. I have two one hundred sixty panel above cockpit one titled one way the other one opposite about fifteen degree tilt one for morning one for afternoon. With twenty amp tracer no issues at all..four hunred fifty amps batt controller works fine and battery have had full since ten this morning. I think it works great when it is overcast cause one side not favoered over the other again no issues that i see tracer very smart Cheers
  6. dont know exactly how they did it on a railing, but mine are on some larger pipe hinged with galvanized pipe hanger strap and move up or flat acting like a bimini. , you could prop it up with maybe those type of props they use for lids and hatches. I saw a picture on the web. Search for this 'how to calculate amp usage aboard a boat' no decribtion but pic. I quess you could put one or two on one side or both sides you could fold them down vertical when going full throtle
  7. think Forida, Gulf of Mexico, temp outside @26c inside @20c batt below waterline -Tracer 1m above. Bright but overcast sky. Tracer pushing 12.9v; 4.5amp up to 7 amps when it gets on the brightest side
  8. Thanks Nick just wondering if this batt 4-6v system changes things. I have a total of 12 cells thanks
  9. do you have railings on your boat? I have seen panels winged out off the railings. Maybe make it adjustable so the could be vertical when needed
  10. sorry if Im slow or get lost for awhile.. My phone provider and Oper Mini dont get along very well and I get stuck in the middle and hard to get back on, espically with the pass word Canal World gave me. Hard to do on these two little keyboards. Slide out system..
  11. Sure it has this setting that goes from Zero thru and to -10 one increment at a time. Syboml mV/oC little o should be up high I quess it is degrees (hard to do on this little phone. Thanks
  12. thanks for the help guys. now I found out I dont know what or how or understand the tempurature thing. Been all over the web to find detail enough on how to use it. Sorry Ass Tracer Co has no help center or answer an emai. My advise is to make sure a company has consumer help befor you buy from them. I dont know what temp they want batt, panel, or rectal or oral And what number I should enter. Please advise
  13. i recieved my Tracer Mppt and hooked it up today..It impresses me , but I do have one question that the instruc dont claify. It wants me to enter my batt hr. Ratings. Well they should be 450 amp hrs but i really think there is hiip in those manuf statements or values. The batts are about 6 mon old and they are Trojans what would be a more realalistic number to enter into my progam. Thanks
  14. thanks everyone for advise. It is all taken into consideration. Got to get rid of all this mess running around on top of the 4-105s. Thanks now Ive got to go stare at my batt bank. CHEERS
