  2. I know of a few places on the Shroppie where there is just enough room for one boat to get in. I take great delight watching others try to get as close as possible, only to be defeated about four foot from the bank.
  3. No it's not just you. We moor in the middle of nowhere with plenty of space all around and what heppens........someone decides to stop about two foot from our button. I think that maybe we just seem to stop at the "Stopping Place." It gets on one's mammary glands. Rob....

  13. Mid-winter, something below zero, back deck covered in ice, if she slips and hurts herself who is going to do the washing.....I suppose I could help and put a chair by the sink for her.
  14. Thanks Richard. That's what I thought but what with the moon being in it's first quarter and being the end of October aannnddd just had the poxy grass cutters round, I thought I'd better check. Rob....
  15. Gallant?? Nothing to do with it. It's her boat and she wants to start/stop it in comfort.....when needs be. Rob....
  16. I was thinking about duplicating the stop button and the ignition. Button operates inside or outside. Ignition key likewise. Rob.... Nope! Cruiser stern. It's so SWMBO dosen't have to go outside when the weather is 'orrible. Rob....
  17. That was my thinking. Cruiser stern, slippery ice/snow on the deck, not going anywhere just charging batteries. . Tha devil's spawn. I was thinking more like piggy-back connectors. Only about six inches of wire
  18. Pouring rain. A cruiser stern. Box on the back with the electrics inside. To save going outside to start the engine, can the ignition switch and stop button just be duplicated to the other side of said box, which would put them inside the boat or can you buy a dedicated remote starter/stop device? Thanks for any help/advice. Rob….

  20. That sounds like "Cobweb" to me. 9.15 Sunday morning. The guy said that a survey was due 6th of November. For some reason he started on about overplating a boat is no bad thing if it's done properly. We said at the time, that if it needed plating we wouldn't be interested. Then left. Thought about it for an hour and then rang back to make an offer. When he asked for my name, I was told it was now under offer. Rob....

  22. It obviously has a lot to do with access. When changing my drive plate (4.17 after sounding like a bag of spanners) there was no room for any sort of jack. Had to put a joist across the rear slider and block and tackle to the lifting bracket on top of the engine. Then laying upsidedown with long extensions to get to the bottom bolts of the gearbox....I hate boats. Rob....
