  1. I assume you are on a 24 volt system as the 30A Tracer max for 12 volt is 390 w. Sounds great that you can get so much washing done and still be up to 100% later on.
  2. Yes. Early morning sun. It was gloriously sunny but maybe too low in the sky.
  3. Sorry the photos are just stored on the laptop. I can't remember the name of the location but I think it may have been connected with the digital camera software I bought from Aldi years ago. I would imagine there are p to 2000 photos Btw my message was to Alan Saunders' mysterious comment ( Valrene9600 is puzzled too!)
  4. Still don't understand what you mean.
  5. Thanks everyone for all your help! What a great site this is
  6. the screen on my laptop packed in a few months back so I replaced it with an iPad. Does the laptop retain all the photos I had on it or do I need to get them transferred somehow to another device?
  7. Tried that many times........doesn't work!
  8. Panic over. Now reading 47v 13.1v 15.4A 61% SOC I haven't done anything. Strange.
  9. Let's hope you never get an emergency family call then. Ditto.
  10. Sunny day here but only getting 14.2v this morning from my 3 x 100w, in series, wired panels, normally about 57v in good sunshine. 12.1v and only 4.8A going into batteries, usually around 17A, and only 32% state of charge. Batteries (720Ah) don't need topping up. What's going on???
  11. Can anyone recommend a network that doesn't pester you with their own texts? I've told EE not to send any more but they say it's impossible to stop them. Their text even says contact them to arrange for these texts to stop but there is no way you can wade through the "press number x for....." To get to the relevant department. I eventually managed to email an EE person in customer relations who couldn't even tell me the sequence of "press number......." to stop these texts. She eventually said it can't be done so my argument was why are you telling people to go through this pointless exercise............although there is a lot of advertising in the recorded messages encouraging you to buy extras while you try to get to the non-existent department..........hmm. A couple of times the texts have come through at 2.30am ........yes half two in the morning. I was so happy to be woken up at that time! I obviously assumed something serious had happened to a family member or friend. And to top it all, after asking for these texts to stop I got a text from them asking, from 0 to 10, how satisfied I was with the service they had provided!!
  12. Yes a 60A MPPT is significantly more expensive than 2 x 30A . eg £490 vs £252 (£126 x 2)
  13. That's what I was thinking. Just to be on the safe side.
  14. Hmm...... I'm confused....... Surprise surprise! Your message came through while I was busy answering Robbo. So do you think a 2nd MPPT is best practice?
  15. One more question though. My 30A MPPT Tracer controller says max Pv input is 390w but Max Open circuit voltage is 150v So 3 x 100w panels is 300w but only 62.4v in series. Adding 3 more panels would only raise the voltage to 124.8v which seems OK. BUT would take the wattage up to 600w which isn't OK. So is the rule "stop before you break either limit, whichever comes first"? Or put in simple terms ..... If you add an extra 300w, get a 2nd MPPT controller.
  16. Excellent explanation.........so ........ just the one relay then. Thanks
  17. Just another thought...... Do I need 2 of these relays......one on the alternator side and one on the solar side or is there a way to wire both systems through one relay.Just saw this diagram http://midsummerenergy.co.uk/pdfs/VSR_har_dgrm.pdf

  19. Hi the open circuit voltage (VOC?) for each panel is 20.8v The Tracer is a 30Amp.
  20. I've got 3 x 100watt solar panels and a 30A MPPT Tracer controller. My boat wiring is 12 volt. Looking on Bimbles site it shows wiring for 3 panels in series. http://www.bimblesolar.com/solardiagrams But for a PWM controller in parallel. Why? And what's the reason/advantage of wiring in series for an MPPT?
  21. Thanks Dave I'll give it a whirl.
  22. Maybe 2,000 or more all in mailboxes under the names of different friends etc. And.........I've got absolutely no idea what anyone is talking about or how to do any of the things people are suggesting POP3, Thunderbird.IMAP, zoho.........?!?!?!?! Looks like I need to go on a computer course
