We buy quite a bit from the butchers counter in Great Haywood farm shop (it isn't cheap though), we also like the pies from the Penkridge butcher which are very good.
We tried the butcher in Alrewas twice but were disappointed both times.

The VMs above or below Star Lock?
We are below Star Lock but as we walked over the bridge it looked like it was full both sides above the lock

Plenty of boats in Stone, we were fortunate to get the last space on the visitor moorings and everyone is moored close with no git gaps.

bonus point if you remember where it is?
I'll take the bonus point, it is at Fazeley.

Friends of ours are currently looking to put their 1998 boat on the market with a broker but don't have RCD paperwork and have been told they need it to sell.

Get on YouTube and search for eye splicing, quite straightforward to do.

And for a small fee from somebody who doesn’t want to move you could take their tracker with you, a win win, they get the rebate from staying put and the boat moving with 2 trackers gets a little fee 😉 could be a nice little earner with a few trackers onboard😂
But when the data shows multiple numbers boats traveling through a narrow lock at the same time there may be suspicion raised and licenses revoked.

I keep considering replacing my tillar bar for one slightly longer as I can't close the rear doors and steer comfortably from the step with the current one.

Dealing with ridiculous FOI requests must waste loads of money that could possibly fix a paddle or two.

I had a few stones thrown going down Ryders Green, managed to catch some of them and threw them back at the kids.
Had a mattress and a big sack of kindling between Minworth and Curdworth, I knew it was coming as I watched the kids dragging it down the lane towards the bridge so stopped the boat as they were about to push it over the parapet so it didn't land on me.

Or you could take a dip like @TheBiscuits

Sounds like someone left the Tapton.

Isn't the last two digits the year of examination, ours runs out this year and ends /20 so I would suggest yours was done in 2019 and therefore has expired.

And it being a wide lock.

Aah, the "BMW" problem... 😉
Mind you a lot of people -- boaters included -- have a similar attitude to hire boats, regardless of the fact that some hirers have spent far longer actually cruising on the canals over the years than most liveaboards... 😞
When we used to hire we often hired a boat that had no hire company details on it so looked like a private boat and I found we got a different reception at locks to when we hired something that had a company name on it. With the unmarked boat people would be happy to slate hire boaters, but I then liked to point out we were hiring.

Holliday Wharf has to be one of the windiest points, I've tried holding the boat there waiting for someone to get off the water point and ended up pinned to the opposite bank.

There's nothing at all wrong with that song by Smokie, but the audience is suspect, and you can thank Chubby Brown for that.
Nothing wrong with the song in the right place which this thread wasn't.

they never knew which side of the canal they should be on and would ping from one side to the other,
but they always looked jolly and happy which I enjoyed seeing,
They didn't look very jolly when I was heading towards them towing a butty, if they had known which side to be on it would have helped.
Tonic required. Send in your photos of what is nice on the waterways now.

We must have been stood in a similar spot but a few weeks apart, taken on 23 March
