Hello again was wondering does anybody keep canaries on their boat ? Was thinking about getting a pair but boat gets really hot with stove and there can be fumes when filling up with coal and taking ashes out. Did think of in cratch but that might be too cold and don,t want them to freeze their bits off Stormforce

Hi was walking back to boat after a shopping expedition,noticed a nice looking apartment building on the walls of which it said private moorings. Now building was on towpath side of canal and the layout was building with patios and a boundary formed by a fence then a 4ft tarmac towpath and then a cut grass strip again about 4ft wide and then a brick edging on canal. For some reason l thought l could moor anywhere on towpath side apart from the obvious locks/bridges/winding holes etc. Have l got it wrong or are the occupants just trying to stop boats mooring here ? Hi quite frankly no l would not fell safe as a single female mooring on a dark unlit tow path.which is why l opted for a marina mooring. As l said in a previous post l cruise with company both male and female and feel quite safe doing so,but returning alone to mooring and a dark unlit boat late at night l am sorry to say fills me with dread. Sorry to be a pain but whats the difference between a caravan or camper being on a mains hook up using the orange cable l mentioned and a boat on a mains hook up using the orange cable ? except ones floating on water.and the others a pain when you are stuck behind it( not on the canal ) Stormforce
