  1. Sounds to good to be true and you know what they say!? Interesting the way it says 'Free Sky TV' and not Sky TV for Free' Many, in fact hundreds of programs are already free. I wonder if they give you BBC, ITV, Chn 4 ..................... I hope I don't put you off looking, I would certainly like to know more!
  2. I know, but I thought if I kept it quiet between us on the forum it would be ok?
  3. Just for curiosity, how heavy is a narrowboat? 57' 10/6/4 semi-trad what would she weigh approximately?

  6. Hi, any more news on copies of WaterWorld progs?
  7. Hi Daniel! Been looking at your steering mechanism...... the semi circle plate attached to the rudder stem, did you make these yourself? Does the cable from one side, go around the semi circle plate and attach to the far side of the plate and visa versa for the cable on the other side.... tthus giving greater leverage? You say there is a possible problem with the cable jumping the pullies......there are pullies that have a guide that stop this happening... you probably have seen these already
  8. Hi Daniel and thanks for Pictures and explanation! I think it's great! Certainly give me some ideas...... did you build that cabin affair too? Like it, want to know more please...... did you build it yourself?
  9. Thanks! I'll start using 'Search' before diving in, if you know what I mean!?

  11. I'm disabled, but not in a chair all the time and live alone. I have a leg brace which means I can get around a bit, but the problem of locks does concern me greatly! I have only be disabled since 98, although it seems a lot longer, and have never liked asking people for help, too independant for my own good I can push open the lock, but have no chance of climbing ladders, or manhaul the boat! I have been looking into the idea of a remote control system for taking the boat in and out of the lock and although it has been done already, as seen on Waterworld, companies that do it charge a fortune, so I 'm still looking. I'm interested in this idea of a winch, but how does it work? Winches like those on 4X4s sound as if they would do, but would need to know more information? There must be a solution to the problem/challenge, so I'll keep looking and will keep an eye on thsi topic and it's threads.
  12. Look'l like I'm keeping you busy Moley! Are you using Search to find links?
  13. Hi, Our weather does have a tendency to be changeable, so I was considering a stern cover, the type you can continue curising with. I have seen many weird and wonderful types, but would like to know what experiences people have had and any advice, recommendations and possible diy ideas? Pictures would be nice too?
  14. Hi, Before I get my hands on my boat the water and waste will have been standing for many months. What will be the best way to ensure that these are clean, fresh and most important safe? It has a PO Loo.
  15. Cheers Folks! Could it be the water that makes it shrink?
  16. Cheers Stuart and Daniel! It's all become clear....... an indirect water heating system.... just like in the house.... got it!
  17. Cheers Arthur! I suppose that is the right way to think of it and as I do more, I'll find I'll need more... I certainly don't want round nuts
  18. Well Dhutch, that sounds like you lived in luxury to me...... a brown bag, a crust and only fourteen hours a day ...... You lucky sod! ment to say bastard, but thought I may offend!? Can't get my head around the last few threads, was it English? ............... I moved from Tamworth to Brum as a missionary to teach them to speak proper, maybe should have moved to Black Country! Joke!! Back to the Ole, thanks for tips, I'm sure the solution is there...
