  6. One of my rules of life never argue with people who can really screw you up i.e Police Mot inspectors/bss inspectors Tax inspectors But back to subject here is link which explains it well http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/alt_how.html
  7. As a Geordie and Northumbrian I would say the North starts on the North side of river Tyne as all the signs pointing south say The South.
  8. If you read it it always talks about battery to etc, the alternator is to battery Example 3.2.2 Check the size of the following cables. battery to master switch; battery or master switch to starter solenoid; battery to battery; engine return to battery or master switch; battery to bow-thruster motor; battery to anchor winch motor; battery to inverter system (over 1000w size). The battery cables prescribed in the check must be approximately 25mm2. 3.6.2 Certain circuits supplying power to equipment that requires a continuous supply, e.g. bilge pump, may bypass the battery isolation switch. However, the risks associated with a short circuit or overload fault must be minimised particularly when the boat is left unattended. Again the battery does not supple power to the alternator but that is my opinion
  9. hope you have sorted out you problems with boatyard and are now afloat. are do you need a lend of a pickaxe handle.
  10. I would argue that it refers to all circuits after the battery, all circuits before apply to the alternator circuit, which is part of the engine supplying the battery.

  14. I would still give trading standards a ring, there always say there cannot help unless people talk to them I think he entered into a verbal agreement and has broken that agreement and I think he is responsible for any additional cost you occur but trading standards would tell you exactly where you stand legally We have a saying shy Baines get nought
  15. There is a mussel colony off the north coast which started to die off it was found that with the Tyne being cleaned up and no sewages being aloud, the mussels had lost a large part of their nutrient. Nature has its own ways as long as there is oxygen present
  16. I’m I right in thinking that in one of your threads you said seller had played for certain items to be repair , which turn out not to be the case, was one of them the gas, if so have you tried talking to trade standards at the local council .
