  1. looks like good stuff i might give it a try and then just give it a top coat just to be safe
  2. thanks for all the help guys i think im going to have a go at grinding/ sanding back the rust and then painting with that thick hammerite in red oxide to match the rest of the decks. on another note does anyone know a good place to match the exterior paint on the boat the previous owner didn't give us the paint code in any of the paperwork and didn't leave a spare tin. and im not sure what type of locker ive got its right up in the bow of the boat though if that helps
  3. im not sure if they still have it waterways world magazene used to have a design tool on there website
  4. hi all in the spring or when it warms up I've got the task of painting inside my gas locker becuse the rust is starting to show its face . can anyone suggest what i can use to do this job and what should i do along the lines of preperation for the painting?
  5. the fact the outside temperature has dropped could mean that your getting colder water being supplied into the system. also try lagging the tank it could keep some of the heat inside it and normally you find on domestic hot water systems in houses that sludge in the system caused by air causing the pipes to start oxodising (sorry about my spelling) is the main cause for a drop in temperature.
  6. i've never painted inside an engine bay but i've seen cars being painted they normally use something called pre-paint to get rid of any dirt or grease off the bodywork before they paint it. try asking someone who works in halfords they might be able to help.
  7. okay i'll give them a check. If they have gone can you recomend anywhere that sells replacement mounts for a bmc engine
  8. I will give the engine mounts a check its there a method to test them ? and i dont think it could be anything inside the engine as it was serviced at the start of the season by calcutt
  9. thanks for the tips guys its for on a trad stern boat but the top cover is loose like on the pictures. I think we will give the neoprene strips a go do you think it could be anything with the engine thats causing them to vibrate ?
  10. I was wondering if anybody had any tips or advice on how to stop vibrations from the engine coming through the engine covers?
  11. I only wondered what other people thought because firstly the layout, and the addition of side hatches, and the portholes are different from the usual Black Prince boats and secondly its the first time ive seen them produce a new boat layout since the early 2000's. And i think its nice to let other people know about these sort of things who might of otherwise been oblivious
  12. hey guys what do you think of the new black prince boat i just saw it on there website and i think its quite smart and a good "couples" boat. heres a link to it http://www.black-prince.com/news/new-princess-2-4/
  13. my friends do tend to come up with their philosophys when in the pub tryoing out the real ale
  14. a friend mentioned to me that 2nd hand boats some of them tent to swim better in the water but they tent to lack in cabin space
