  1. You are on the right lines with your sketch. No reason why it should not work. The wall bed mechanisms are expensive (search the net) so probably not worth the expense and for a single bed. The weight of lifting it up will probably not need the counter ballance springs in that mechanism. There are some photos of double bed done by Crown Narrowboats on their site but I cant remember which boat they are on
  2. best use standard 18mm or 19mm ply. Alternative to bed extension is a drop down bed, this was you get a standard size of matress, everything is hidden from view in the daytime and it creates an airy feel to the bedroom and usefull floor space during the day. Drawback is that you lose the underbed storage
  3. you could consider a modern look, brushed chrome. 2 amp round pin socket £6.85 see link http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/CM3245BCB.html
  4. If you want something different whynot consider a glass enclosure that are becoming more popular, they can be more compact and need not cost more than £500 if you shop around. Watch the headroom though, they tend to be about 6ft plus the height of the tray which can be partly set into the floor to gain an inch or two
  5. I too would like to learn from the experiences of others as am thinking about installing one (or similar) myself. I think you need a water pump for the radiators and a separate deisel tank to feed the stove as the deisel is gravity fed, so its not quite that easy Dave
  6. Planning my next boat. Does anyone have any experiece of this kind of heater as opposed to the more conventional type that heats radiators? I see advantages of lower cost as this type is extensively fitted to trucks as cab heaters, also no need for plumbing or rdiators. One disadvantage is that it cant produce hot water so that would need to come via the engine and calorifier. Wonderred if there was any smell that comes through the pipes etc, it ought to be smell free I guess Thanks Dave
  7. I am also considering skirting radiators as I dont like the look of "house panel radiators" the nearest I can find are similar to Finrads (see URL) these come out at about £100 per 2m length Anyone know where to source the original Finrads http://heatandplumb.com/acatalog/Perimeter_Heating.html
  8. I looked at them for a sailaway, the pricing is good and the Mike Christian is a nice looking hull. I wanted more than their basic offering but there is not much extra they are able to do. Basically what you see is what you get so dont expect them to offer much variations from the basic hull. About 3 to 4 months lead time
