  1. Does anyone know any canal - waterways jokes or funny sayings? The only one I heard a while ago was if a boat is a rocking don't come a knocking. Bloody hell I'm half asleep sorry about the spelling mishap I'm on my iPhone!
  2. Hi, license fee can be found on British Waterways website and varies on types of licences. There isn't really any laws like on the road, though they are restrictions - try to make rules. Insurance companies, Haven Knox Johnson, Collidge & Partners I think. Theirs quite a few that advertise in Waterways World magazine, it's worth buying. Do your research, boat cost, maintenance, are you going to continuous cruise or moor? You may want to see about a mooring and cost. There is alsorts to look at, have you tried boating before? Regards Terry
  3. Hi, I've been a liveaboard for the past 3 years firstly it started off with being a 25ft Springer waterbug for short trips out (we all have to start somewhere) owned it for about 5-6 months then purchased my 60ft narrowboat from someone who was moored opposite me who decided to sell suddenly due to his personal circumstances. I was renting an apartment with the Mrs which was £500pcm and it was a big decision to move onboard. We mainly decided to move onboard because of the peaceful waterways, the lifestyle and quirkiness. There's nothing better than setting off on your travels & visiting all the new places, meeting new people. I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute even when problems have occurred. I'm curious to know why others decided to liveaboard. Terry
  4. What do you love about living aboard and why did you choose to?
  5. Have you tried eBay? A marine chandlery will be top heavy for batteries. You may find some near you that you may beable to collect on eBay.
  6. Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
  7. I've always wondered what is the history beyond Rosie and Jims boat, Ragdoll? I think it's called that correct me if I'm wrong. Is the boat still going ?
  8. Works out around 26k using XE currency converter. Beautiful boat at a fab price, shows you can still get alot for your money.
  9. Thanks for the info guys much appreciated. Will see if I can get a handspike soon. Regards Terry
  10. Hi, I came down the Leeds & Liverpool last year starting at the Wigan flight and moored at Skipton for a few days. Going from there and through the 5 & 3 rise locks into Leeds and mooring in Clarence Dock. It took me nearly 2 days to get there now how long should it take roughly to get into the main centre of Wakefield from Clarence Dock ? Is it easily do-able in 1 day? Also once at Wakefield how long should I be looking at to get to Halifax? And where would you recommend mooring and where NOT to moor along the route from Clarence Dock? Regards Terry
  11. Is the Narrowboat actually owned by Guy himself or by BBC?
  12. It's lovely to hear you're enjoying it and that you planned it beforehand, still, not bad. Best wishes Terry
  13. Is the L&L still restricted due to water shortages like last year? If not has all they restrictions on lock times been removed? Terry
  14. Mickey, why would I want to pop down to see a bunch of deceiving lying people in CV marine? And when ever your a skivvy, broker, office worker, boat delivery person, or a tea assistant you've still deceived people. As Carlt says take your scams elsewhere. And I am only telling people from what I have learnt and from your previous post on this thread what kind of company you are. If I was in that situation I'd expect someone to have the decency to say look dont buy from them, they're a bunch of liars who decieve people and take advantage of peoples disadvantages. It's called DECENCY, something you and your company need to learn about. Now I've looked at your previous post which shows a boat for sale with a broker sign on top and best broker for a new custom built boat. It days on your CV marine website you have teamed up with Tyler Wilson for boat shells. Now I won't be posting or commenting on the likes of you as I feel me & other members have a visual image of what you are like. Word of mouth and all that like I said previously. And alot of people read these threads & comments and 1 bad word is enough, but you have several. I don't care if your on a pension or you a dear friend all that crap you've previously come out with my comments and others are true. You've made no attempt in your shame - being caught out to apologise and as Carlt says your digging a deeper hole. And if I have a problem, you mean, please pop down to CV marine to discuss it. I have a very big mouth and alot of friends on the canal who are also on here and we will mutually express our opinions. As on the previous post, you may want to read this very clearly, I can see already you've lost a few potential buyers and you'll keep on loosing them now we've established this. Have a great day with the phone ringing of the hook NOT!
  15. I don't have any "gripes" and no I do not know you neither does it take a genius to figure out youre deceving people. And as previous owners said and I'll say I don't feel obliged to have to explain myself to you. I have a NB on the Ashton canal and me & the mrs both work full time self employed. The only reason I joined last night was because I thought their was a subcription cost previously until my fellow neighbours told me there wasnt. I've been on here every single day reading post & threads. And no I'm not a dealer or wanting to be one. But as for you, enjoy being the brokers skivvy, because you won't be for long if you keep on deceiving people & lying. I think myself & plenty others now know what you & CV marine are like. Terry
