    moorings

thanks for the info this really helps, as soon as we are working we intend to get a ligit mooring as we do not want to cc all the time as soon as we get work, we will pay for a mooring hi Tim thanks for info, if we went nottingham, and like you said living expenses cheaper, when we found work, we would bid for a canal side cart mooring as we dont want to be on the move all the time, just needs must until we get work

    moorings

yes looks better going south, not have to be in reading, just south, but am trying to sus out if 14 day or 7 day mooring is feasable, until we get ourselves sorted out

    moorings

that is good to know, but will still need to find work first, is it feasable to go reading way, is there any free canal side moorings until we do find work, or is it better to head nottingham way or just sell the boat and go homeless
  9. ok guys its me again, we are now due to move our live aboard boat, we are pondering on one of two ways, towards reading and be-oned where there will be the possibility of more work or towards nottingham where there wil be possibility of more moorings, now we cant pay for moorings until we get work, so the first place seems more feasable, so can any one advise, is there any free 14 day moorings near reading either side, or would it be better to go nottingham way, hubby a chef, ime a carer, we are due tomove this thursday, once we have work and gained some funds then we can loo at marinas, but going to take around 4-6 months to save for that, this boating lark is becomming impossible help advice please
  10. yes well we have got to the stage that we will go anywhere, ut want a base so we can work thats all
  11. cant see any at spiceball or tramway at resent, would of been ideal
  12. i loe the life living on a boat, but if we cant hold our jobs down due to no perminent moorings and we are being moved on by ct, so will lose our jobs again, i just cant see how to survive, we are in banbury and thinking of moving towards nottingham, so the money we will have from jobs (no savings), will probaby get us there, than we will have to find work again, just a visious circle really however if anyone knows of any company needing a good sous chef, let us know not about escaping costs, abut letting us live and earn to stay living the way we want
  13. i see thanks for that, seems it is just getting harder to live on a boat, only done it for about thre years and everything just goes wrong, considering selling up and using money to put non depost for flat, that is if we can get a mrgage at age 50 put a deposit on flat i mean dammmmm, got work but have to move on as cannot get perminent moorings whare we are, so could move on but then have no job util we find one, so wont be able to pay for moorings for a while, hell ct make it imossible to live the way we wanted, rant over,, sell boat
