  3. Cheers dout a broker should ber saying things like that anyway
  4. Hi yes that looks a decent boat! yes after paying for everythink ive budgeted a couple of grand aside! Spoke to the manger today of a local brokerage firm without mentioning any names i was asking for a bit more info on a certain boat i quite like. the BSC has run out but will be sold with a full one. So the manager said if you come down while the BSC inspector is here we will ask him to check the hull as the boat is on hard standing then you wont have to pay for a survey. Surely this cant be correct. otherwise everyone would be doing it. This has now left me quite light hearted as i do like the boat and keep going back to it online. any advice would be grafully recived
  5. Thanks very much Richard for your advice! been looking online this morning around 30k-35k boats. yes it would be a cash buy. so hopefully might get lucky!
  6. Hi all sorry to bring up this topic again! I have today spent a day going around a few brokers around cheshire. Have seen a couple that fit the bill. But i saw a comment on another post saying that if your budget is 25k look at boats up to 35k is this true? surely the broker would laugh at you if you put an offer in 10 grand less than the asking price. also does a surveyor just check the struture hull etc of the boat? or just he check electrics, engine etc? all advice gratfullt recived!

  12. Yes it seems that some hire companies let there craft down the lift i.e Alvechurch & canal boat club do from Anderton as does Black prince, but some dont. I was told my a engineer at Anderton that some companies wont let there boats down because it can become a nightmare if a breakdown happens while on the R Weaver .
  13. We hired from Claymoore last March for weekend break & headed to Manchester which is 8 hours cruisng from Preston Brook. We got an early take over time of around midday so we got to Lymm for the Friday Night. which is a great little village with plenty of pubs and places to eat. It have quite few moorings too. The Sat morning we headed to Manchester and moored in Castlefield Basin. Then the Sunday Morning we set off handy and headed back though Sale,Lymm and moored for our last might in Moore which is around an hour or so from Preston Brook. great stretch no tunnels & no locks!
  14. hey Muddy waters hope your well. we was on the Llangollen the same week. we picked up "roa Island fromblackwater meadow marina on the sun 3/10 our first night we moored outside the Jack Mytton at hindford just below new marton locks. is this the pub you mention?

  16. Hi All hope your all well. I thought it was about time i posted my report from my great trip with Anglo Welsh. At first we booked merlin from Trevor but after booking the head office called to say that it wasnt yet ready for the season & we could have an upgrade but i wanted a boat with a stove on with 2 fixed beds without using the dinette. & they didnt have a boat like this at Trevor. So they suggested Emerald from Bunbury. which is a strech of Canal i have never been on so it turned out quite well. On arriving at the base the boat wasnt quite ready but the staff were great. Whilst i was boat nosing i watched the staff hose down the boat with washing up liqud and its looked great afterwards which i have never seen any base do before. On setting off from the base we decided to head to Chester, our first overnight stop was the shady oak pub. had a great meal in there followed by a great night. Next day we set off early and headed into Chester arriving after Dinnertime. We moored closed to the winding hole by bridge 32 as we didnt want to go up the staircase locks. Was abit unsure about were we moored but soon enough a few boats turned up and turned out to be ok. Had a great night out in Chester with people off the boat behind. Sunday morning again we left handy. We had to be back at Bunbury base Monday morning to pick a relation up who would be joining us for the rest of the week. so we decided that we would again moor at the shady oak Sunday night. Mon we set off and picked our relation up at the base. We also had to have the Fridge changed onboard as was faulty & had a slight problem with the gas but was sorted straight away and we was off up the Staircase locks at Bunbury and headed for Nantwich. I loved the mooring here great spot yet close to the town. Tues we headed off to Audlem we moored just below the locks here in order to turn around the next day. We was planning on heading up to Wrenbury but i decided that as we always do the Llangollen we would infact do the Audlem/adderley flight and head to Market Drayton on Wed. Thurs we left Market Drayton & headed back down the Adderley & Audlem locks though Hack green & and arrived at our destination of Barbridge Junc 8 hours later our Longest cruisng day ever. As we had a few problems onboard the base said we could return the boat for midday. So after a night of cleaning/packing and drinking the remaining drinks. we potted back to Bunbury. And i must say this was one of the best holidays we have had on the canals. The weather was stunning and i got slighty sunburnt. The boat was great & we covered new cruisng ground. hopefully back afloat next month.
  17. GREAT TRIP FULL STORY POSTED SOON.
  18. Well had a great few days up to now. Been up to Chester & heading back through Bunbury & head up the Llangollen for a day or to. We have moored at the shady oak tonight but its closed so not happy. It was open when we moored up a 4.15 but when we walked over at 8ish it was closed. Never mind a few drinks onboard & an early night. We had a late night out in chester last night.
  19. Well today is the day iam off for a week boating....so excited. Haha see you all next week were a full report will be given. Bye for now.
  20. Id say the Llangollen as my personal favorite. wins everytime. The Jack Myton at Hinsford is a great watering hole. you have also got Nantwich,Wrenbury,Whitchurch,Ellsmere,Chirk &Llangollen all with great pubs.
  21. That sounds like a great deal you got there mate. I like black prince too. never heard about that type of offer and have booked many holidays starting within less than 24 hours! I understand what you mean about the Norfolk Broads crusiers thou I do like the broads but the state of some of the hire craft! leaves a lot to be believed!
  22. Aww right yes i have always wanted to start from Trevor. I do love the Llangollen. Ive been through Great heywood. Nice round there. I see a fellow Scouser too!
